Trampling on the Truth

by Stephen Lendman

US/Western MSM are virtual house organs of their power elite.

It's notably true about my favorite MSM villain -- the NYT lying machine at war on truth and full disclosure.

Its daily fake news editions follow a familiar pattern -- news fit print banned in favor of the fabricated official narrative on major issues.

Its latest edition sticks to the state-approved script, notably about all things Russia and Ukraine -- fiction consistently substituting for reality on the ground with trash like the following:

"The Ukrainians just pulled off a masterful offensive in the Kharkov region (sic)."

"(T)own after town fell without a shot (sic)."

Regime troops "now are heading south (sic)."

"Columns of dark green military trucks and American-made rocket launchers are thundering down the long, straight highways into Donbass (sic)."

Reality check:

No "masterful offensive" was carried out, far from it.

Russia redeployed forces in strategically unimportant Kharkov Region areas to where they needed to liberate remaining parts of Donbass from the scourge of Nazified occupation.

While ongoing, torrents of shots were fired -- by Russian missiles, rockets and artillery to support and protect redeployed forces while shifted from one location to another.

The price Kiev paid to temporarily move troops into areas Russia left was staggering -- thousands killed, many thousands more wounded, along with large-scale losses of arms and equipment.

What the Times failed to report was most important to explain.

And this Times trash:

Vladimir Putin "wants…Donbass…as (part) of a grand strategy to resurrect elements of the Soviet world (sic)."

And this Times reinvention of history:

In 2014, "protesters in Kiev chased…Ukraine's pro-Russia president, out of office (sic)."

Reality about the Obama/Biden regime's coup was ignored -- including snipers on rooftops overlooking the Maidan involved in gunning down peaceful protesters at the time.

Nor did the Times explain the Odessa massacre -- dozens of coup opponents burned alive by Right Sector Nazi thugs in the city's Trade Union House, some escaping incineration shot or otherwise killed outside.

More Times trash:

"Putin's strategy was to turn strategic slices of the former Soviet Union into separatist hotbeds (sic) to hobble young nations like Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine (sic), all struggling to break free from Moscow and move closer to Europe (sic)."

And this Times perversion of reality, falsely claiming that "India (and) China (are) distancing from Russia (sic)."

Sergey Lavrov earlier stressed what he called "a privileged strategic partnership" between Russia and India.

In late August, he said the following:

"These relations were characterized as strategic partnership."

"Then, after a certain period of the development of cooperation, our Indian friends suggested they be called privileged strategic partnership."

"Some time later, they were described as special privileged strategic partnership at New Delhi's initiative."

"We don't have such a quality of relations, committed to paper in official documents adopted at the top level, with any other country of the world."

"We saw for ourselves that these are really especially privileged relations during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to India in December 2021."

"I saw it once again when I visited India not long ago."

"I was received by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had meaningful talks with my counterpart, Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar."

Lavrov explained more about close ties between both countries.

Discussing the September 15 – 16 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit on Thursday, I explained close Sino/Russian ties, notably between Vladimir Putin and China's Xi Jinping.

And this rubbish from time and again wrong on economic and other issues -- notorious for fake news over the real thing -- Paul Krugman.

Yet the Times gives him a regular platform to deceive readers instead of informing them with facts.

True to form, his latest fake news column stuck to the fabricated official narrative as follows, roaring:

"(T)he tide seems to have turned in Ukraine's favor on the battlefield (sic)," adding:

"Ukraine is actually doing pretty well (sic)…"

The regime "show(ed) an unexpected level of coolheadedness and competence (sic)."

"…Western weapons changed everything…on the battlefield (sic)."

"I still find it amazing how much damage appears to have been done by just 16 US-supplied HIMARS launchers and 10 older systems from Britain and Germany (sic)."

"At this point, Russia's army seems more likely to break than Ukraine's (sic)."

Krugman also turned reality on its head about events in Kharkov this month, falsely saying it "demonstrat(ed) (Kiev's) capabilities and Russia('s) weakness (sic)."

Without exception, all the above claims are indisputably false and deceiving.

It's typical Times misreporting while suppressing truth and full disclosure.

The same reality applies to its reporters, correspondents, and columnists across the board.

Truth-telling is cause for sacking.

A Final Comment

On Sunday, September 18, CBS 60 Minutes fake news will feature the fake Biden.

According to excerpts released, he mumbled and bumbled words to the effect that if Vladimir Putin uses nukes against Ukraine, hegemon USA's response will be "consequential (sic)."

Reporting on what'll air Sunday evening, the Times ignored that the empire of lies and forever wars was the only nation ever to use these WMDs against another country.

And nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, 1945 came when war was virtually over months earlier.

It continued because FDR and HST rejected Japan's near-unconditional offer to surrender.

Asking only to retain its emperor in an honorable capacity, what the US rejected was later accepted once its forces gratuitously incinerated Toyko and dozens of other Japanese cities by fire-bombing them -- immolating countless thousands of its civilians.

Nuking Hiroshima and Nagasaki were two of history's great crimes.

They had nothing to do with winning a war won months earlier.

What happened was all-about displaying imperial USA's military might, its new super-weapon, what Soviet Russia knew about before used in battle.

Terror-bombing is an international crime.

It's banned by the 1907 Hague IV Convention, Geneva IV on protecting civilians in time of war, and the Nuremberg principles.

They forbid "crimes against peace, war crimes and crimes against humanity," including "inhumane acts committed against any civilian population, before or during the war."

The US is also infamous for using chemical, biological and all sorts of other banned weapons against invented enemies.

It's in stark contrast to how Russia has gone all-out to protect Ukrainian civilians and nonmilitary infrastructure throughout its liberating SMO -- focusing only on  liberating Donbass and eliminating the scourge of Nazism infesting central Europe.
