Pelosi Arriving in Taiwan Tuesday Evening

Pelosi Arriving in Taiwan Tuesday Evening

by Stephen Lendman

The notoriously undemocratic Dem is one of the most abhorrent figures in US political history.

If she ignores repeated warnings by China against visiting what it considers a breakaway province, she'll further reveal her contempt for peace, stability, cooperative relations with other nations and the rule of law.

According to MSM, she's expected to arrive in Taipei late Tuesday evening local time.

Taiwanese broadcaster TVBS said she'll likely meet with Taiwan's so-called president Tsai Ing-wen.

Ahead of her arrival where she doesn't belong — nor in the region — the Pentagon reportedly is positioning warships and planes near the island, where they don't belong.

At this time, an unacceptable affront to Chinese sovereignty appears certain — virtually assuring a harsh Beijing response.

According to Russia's Valdai Discussion Club Research Director, Fyodor Lukyanov:

If Pelosi goes to Taiwan, "it's a big question how she will do it."

"If she arrives by the plane she is using in Asia, which is a US Air Force plane, then, generally speaking, she has no right."

"The Chinese don't allow (foreign) military aircraft there."

"If she decides to use a passenger plane, just an airliner, it will be curious to see" how China responds.

"The visit will put China in a very difficult position, since it cannot leave it unnoticed, while any reaction is fraught with the collapse of relations with the US, which China does not want at this stage."

On Tuesday, the China Times reported that Pelosi "is about to visit Taiwan."

Ahead of her likely arrival, PLA fighter jets are airborne around the island.

Its warships are positioned along "the unofficial buffer zone" between the mainland and its breakaway province.

PLA aircraft "performed (various) tactical maneuvers to briefly 'touch' the center line of the strait."

China's Defense Ministry ordered the PLA to "intensif(y) (a) combat readiness guidance period" from August 2 to the 4th.

At a Monday White House press brief, the Biden regime's so-called national security spokesman, Kirby, recited his customary litany of bald-faced Big Lies, first with further demonization of Russia, falsely saying:

Moscow "weaponized food (sic) and…blockaded Ukraine's ports (sic)."

What Kirby called a "crisis" was made-in-the-USA, he left unexplained.

He noted that the Biden regime will throw another $550 million worth of weapons et al — for Ukrainian Nazis to continue perpetual US proxy war on Russia with expendable foot soldiers.

The latest tranche has nothing to do with providing security for Nazified Ukraine.

Along with previous shipments of weapons et al, it has everything to do with wanting Russia bogged down in another Afghanistan, a failed mission, yet it continues.

On Taiwan, Kirby said the following:

Pelosi "has not confirmed any travel plans."

It's for her "and her staff" to address the issue.

"So we won't be commenting or speculating about the stops on her (provocative) trip."

"We have been clear from the very beginning that she will make her own decisions (sic)."

She "has the right to visit Taiwan (sic)."

No one may legally enter the territory of another country without its authorization.

Not only has Pelosi gotten none, she was sternly warned and re-warned to stay away.

Taiwan is sovereign Chinese territory.

If Pelosi arrives in Taipei late Tuesday as reported, her unacceptable action will be a significant affront to China's sovereignty.

Kirby pretended otherwise.

By failing to act against her clear provocation, the Biden regime is complicit with how she's willfully, maliciously and dangerously thumbing her nose at Beijing's sovereign rights.

Kirby is an imperial mouthpiece, justifying what's unjustifiable time and again.

At the same time, he ignored China's warning against "playing with fire" and virtual certainty of a harsh response if Pelosi's aircraft attempts to land in Taiwan.

And this from interventionist Blinken, saying:

Pelosi "will make her own decisions about whether or not to visit Taiwan (sic)."

If she goes to the island "and China tries to create some kind of crisis or otherwise escalate tensions, that would be entirely on Beijing (sic).

"We are looking for them, in the event she decides to visit, to act responsibly and not to engage in any escalation going forward (sic)."

On Tuesday, China's Global Times said the PLA posted a video on social media with the following message, saying:

"We are fully prepared for any eventuality."

"Fight upon order. Bury every intruder. Move toward joint and successful operation!"

So far, the video got over 42 million views.

GT stressed that if Pelosi attempts to arrive in Taipei, "China will see it as a provocative action permitted by the Biden (regime) rather than a personal decision made by Pelosi…"

Her attempted arrival "would be a serious incident that means the US violated its" one-China pledge, repeating what it's done earlier.

According to analyst Lu Xiang, China will retaliate against the Biden regime and Pelosi if her aircraft tries to land in Taipei.

Her affront will be another body blow to Sino/US relations.

Other analysts cited by GT believe that her hostility toward China will hasten reunification of the island with the mainland.

"And Pelosi's (effrontery) would mark the beginning of the end of US hegemony, analysts noted."

Her Asia/Pacific tour will achieve nothing toward advancing Washington's imperium at a time when the influence of the empire of lies and forever wars is declining worldwide.

Pelosi's affront to China's sovereignty will hasten it.

A Final Comment

Ahead of Pelosi's expected Taiwan visit, peace activists and area residents protested against her effrontery outside her San Francisco office.

Groups involved included Pivot to Peace, the ANSWER Coalition, CODEPINK, Veterans for Peace and Chinese community Bay area leaders.

Signs displayed included the following:

"China is one" and "US hands off Taiwan."

Participants chanted: "China is not our enemy."

Retired San Francisco Superior Court judge/Pivot for Peace co-founder, Julie Tang, said the following:

"China is not an existential threat."

"What IS an existential threat is racism and American policy that drives us to war."

"Cold War tactics and agenda by (US officials), particularly Pelosi, is unwarranted."

"Let's together join up and urge her to come home and deal with our local issues" and stop meddling in the internal affairs of other nations.
