The Great Russiagate Hoax Revisited

by Stephen Lendman

When accusations lack supportive evidence, they're baseless.

Not a shred of evidence ever linked Russia to election meddling in the US or anywhere else.

Longstanding US election rigging domestically and worldwide is worlds apart from how Russia operates.

Hillary's dirty hands were behind the Russiagate hoax — what was all about attempting to delegitimize Trump's legitimate 2016 presidential triumph.

Tuesday's acquittal of former Hillary campaign attorney, Michael Sussman, on lying to the FBI changed nothing about the Russiagate hoax.

Ahead of the verdict on Monday, Law Professor Jonathan Turley explained the following:

Despite "overwhelming evidence against Sussman, the jury's makeup" favored his (indefensible) defense."

Given made-in-the-USA sanctions and proxy hot war on Russia, whatever is alleged about the nation and its leadership is automatically accept as true by most people because of heavily biased MSM misreporting — no matter how indisputably false what's claimed.

The lengthy probe and two-week trial of Sussman was a travesty of justice denied.

Turley called it "an indictment of a (so-called US justice) department and (FBI) which, once again, appeared willfully blind as they were played by (Hillary's) campaign."

Her dirty hands were all over spreading bald-faced Big Lies about a Trump/Kremlin connection through Russia's Alfa Bank and Kremlin US election rigging.

No such connection existed or any evidence of Russian involvement in trying to manipulate the result of a US election.

Turley debunked what was falsely claimed, calling it a "tinfoil-hat conspiracy theory without support."

During the Sussman trial, former Hillary campaign manager, Robby Mook, admitted that she personally approved the fake news claim about a Trump/Russian Alfa Bank connection — knowing no such link existed.

Hillary, her campaign and the DNC were also behind the former UK MI6 intelligence operative Christopher Steele's concocted Trump/Russia dossier.

Containing spurious accusations without corroborating evidence, it falsely alleged misconduct and collusion between Trump, his campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign – including phony accusations of Russian US election interference.

The phony Steele dossier and concocted Trump/Russian Alfa Bank claim "were pushed to (Hillary's) friends in the FBI," Turley explained, stressing:

"(T)he combined record of the Steele dossier and the Alfa Bank claim makes the FBI look like an unindicted co-conspirator."

Bureau head at the time, James Comey, and others around him "magnifie(d) concern over (its) alleged bias or predisposition on the Trump investigation."

Similar malfeasance "led the FBI to pursue the Russian investigation for years despite being warned early by American intelligence that the Steele dossier contained not just unsupported allegations but possible Russian disinformation."

Probes by the House, Senate and special counsel Mueller found no evidence of Russian collusion with Trump to help him triumph over Hillary, nothing suggesting illegal or improper Trump team ties to Moscow.

What happened remains perhaps the most shameful political chapter in US history — outdoing McCarthyism.

MSM wanted revenge for Trump's triumph over media darling Hillary — so 4th estate members backed the Russiagate hoax.

Following Trump-appointed special counsel John Durham's extensive probe into alleged DJT/Russia links, the Sussmann trial began on May 16.

Two weeks later on May 31, he was declared not guilty of the single charge of lying to the FBI — despite hard evidence proving otherwise.

After hearing closing arguments last Friday — and adjourning for the three-day Memorial Day weekend — pro-Hillary jurors ruled for Sussman on Tuesday after a few hours of deliberation.

According to his federal indictment, he "misled the FBI general counsel and other FBI personnel concerning the political nature of his work."

By so doing, he "deprived the FBI of information that might have permitted it more fully to assess and uncover the origins of the relevant data and technical analysis, including the identities and motivations of (his) clients."

Jurors ignored no evidence of a Trump/Russia connection — or Russian US election rigging — by House, Senate and Mueller probes, along with evidence of Steele's dodgy dossier.

Even pro-Hillary, anti-Trump, anti-all things Russia, the NYT, admitted that "heavily" Dem District of Columbia, where the Sussman trial was held, "suggested" political bias for her and him.

Once again, justice was denied.

Pro-Hillary, anti-Trump, anti-Russia bias tainted Sussman's acquittal.

Aided by MSM, Hillary, Obama/Biden regime CIA director John Brennan, and their co-conspirators cooked up the Russiagate hoax to fabricate claims about Kremlin US election meddling and a Trump/Russia connection.

Ordinary Americans are held to one standard, favored privileged ones another.

Rule of law principles don't apply when conflict with the interests of  the rich and powerful.

Headed by James Comey, the FBI was complicit in wanting Trump's presidential campaign damaged to favor Hillary.

All things related to what led to the Sussman trial and tainted acquittal are further proof a deeply corrupted system too debauched to fix.

Russiagate should have been called Hillarygate.

She and her campaign cooked  cooked the books to defeat Trump but failed to cook them enough.

No Russiagate probe was warranted. No special counsel should have been appointed.

No matter who controls things in Washington — especially when undemocratic Dems run things — privileged interests alone are served at the expense of the great majority, the rule of law, and justice for all.
