On a Path Toward Doomsday

by Stephen Lendman

Hegemon USA-dominated NATO bears full responsibility for what led up to and followed after Russia launched its SMO to demilitarize and deNazify Ukraine.

As directed by its higher power in Washington, Nazi-infested Ukraine threatens central Europe and world peace.

A cancer in Europe's heartland, it's crucial to eliminate the menace it represents.

That's what Russia's SMO is all about, a mission to prevent the threat of US-controlled Ukraine leading to possible nuclear war.

I agree with assessments of Doug Casey, Law Professor Francis Boyle and David Stockman.

What Casey called a "American nightmare" is the following:

The US power elite is comprised of "sociopaths."

Anyone believing that what happened in Nazi Germany, Stalinist Russia, and other despotic states cannot happened in America is delusional.

It's been happening incrementally in the US for years.

Casey believes that things advanced under US hardliners to where they're "out of control" today.

Sociopaths in charge are advancing things toward "police state" rule and "a major war abroad" — with invented enemy Russia.

In a days earlier article, I quoted Francis Boyle's assessment about an "unfolding US/NATO War Plan" — things "set into motion (toward direct military confrontation against) Russia."

Once begun, the danger of "employing battlefield nukes" is surely an ominous possibility.

David Stockman put it this way, saying:

"Washington is now on a doomsday path that has no rational end game except the risk of WW III."

Despite no military threat from any nation, proxy war waged by dominant US hardliners on Russia risks expansion to full-blown East/West conflict.

Earlier I quoted father of the US nuclear navy, Admiral Hyman Rickover's warning to Congress in 1982, saying:

"The lesson of history is when a war starts, every nation will ultimately use whatever weapons it has available" to win.

"That's why I am such a great exponent of stopping this whole nonsense of war."

"(A)ttempts to limit war have always failed."

"I think the human race is going to wreck itself, and it is important that we get control of this horrible (nuclear) force and try to eliminate it" — before it eliminates us.

Dominant US hardliners in power represent the worst of what Rickover feared.

The risk of direct US/NATO confrontation with Russia is ominously real.

Supported by MSM

Russophobes — with nary a dissenting view — that's where things are heading.

If direct East/West confrontation occurs — what grows more likely by the day — it's a short leap to use of tactical/non-strategic battlefield nukes to thermonuclear weapons with incinerating entire cities and surroundings in mind.

In 1961, USAF chief of staff General Curtis LeMay claimed that nuclear war with Soviet Russia was inevitable.

His lunatic solution was launching thousands of nuclear missiles preemptively on its territory.

At the same time, Joint Chiefs Chairman General Lyman Lemnitzer urged a surprise nuclear attack strategy against Soviet Russia.

When the issue was raised at a National Security Council meeting, Jack Kennedy walked out in disgust.

Wanting none of it, he told Secretary of State Dean Rusk:

"And we call ourselves the human race."

During the October 1962 Cuban missile crisis, Kennedy said that he never had any intention of using nuclear weapons.

He wanted things resolved diplomatically, precisely how things turned out to prevent the risk of possible nuclear war.

There are no JFKs, RFKs, MLKs or others like them in Washington today — just the opposite.

A lunatic fringe runs things with the worst of diabolical aims in mind.

According to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN), things are "one tiny temper tantrum away" from possible nuclear armageddon.

A "moment of (irrational) panic" or rage could set in motion the "destruction of cities and the deaths of millions of civilians."

"We have a choice: the end of nuclear weapons or the end of us," ICAN's executive director, Beatrice Fihn, earlier stressed, adding:

The risk of using nukes today is "greater…than (during decades of) Cold War."

In the hands of recklessly irresponsible leaders, the worst of scenarios is possible.

That's today's stark reality.

Hellbent for unchallenged global dominance, undemocratic Dem hardliners —supported by likeminded congressional lunatics — risk armageddon by preemptively attacking Russia.

UN High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, Izumi Nakamitsu, perhaps had them in mind when earlier stressed:

"(W)e are all living (with the) danger…of nuclear peril."

It's why "moving towards a world free of nuclear weapons is…an urgent priority."

The alternative is potential nuclear annihilation.

If US/NATO attacks Russia, the chance of nukes being used is ominously high.

And if things turn out this way, so is the risk of destroying humanity and all other life forms.
