Holiday Season War Drums

by Stephen Lendman

On the world stage, Russia and hegemon USA are worlds apart.

The Russian Federation prioritizes peace, stability, cooperative relations with other countries and compliance with rule of law principles.

Both right wings of the US war party prioritize forever wars by hot and/or other means on invented enemies year-round — including during the holiday season at home and abroad.

Sharing a near-1,500 mile land and sea border with Russia — the longest Western frontier with the country — Nazi-infested Ukraine is used by dominant US hardliners as a dagger aimed at its heartland.

Vladimir Putin earlier said that "(t)he appearance on our borders of a powerful military bloc…will be considered by Russia as a direct threat to our country's security," adding:

Russian missiles will target Ukraine if it joins NATO or allows Washington's (solely for offense) missile defense shield to be installed in the country.

Orchestrated, funded and directed by the Pentagon and CIA, Ukraine has been waging cross-border war on the Donbass People's Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk since April 2014.

They broke away from Kiev after the Obama/Biden's February 2014 coup — refusing to accept tyrannical fascist rule.

The risk of greater war in Europe's heartland looms large at a time when Washington and its NATO vassal states keep pouring heavy weapons into Ukraine for offense, not defense.

Citing Biden regime officials days earlier, the NYT reported the following:

"The Pentagon (intends) to provide Ukraine with battlefield intelligence that could help the country more quickly respond to (the threat of a) Russian invasion" that doesn't exist and hasn't throughout the post-WW II period.

Claims of built up Russian forces along Ukraine's border are fake news.

At his yearend press conference last week, Vladimir Putin debunked the phony threat of Russian aggression at a time when US-dominated NATO forces are increasingly mobilized closer to its land, sea and airspace borders.

Nonbelligerent, nonthreatening Russia in an invented menace — not a real one — because of its freedom from hegemonic US control.

Along with dominant Biden regime hardliners, nearly all congressional members are militantly hostile toward the country and its leadership for the above reason.

On Christmas eve, GOP Senator Rob Portman and undemocratic Dem Senator Jeanne Shaheen called for using Kiev to confront Russia to the last Ukrainian in a WaPo op-ed.

Reinventing history, they falsely called the Obama/Biden's 2014 Maidan coup a "revolution of dignity (sic)."

They lied claiming that Kiev "made a conscious decision to turn to the West (sic)."

Ignoring that Nazi-infested fascist rule replaced democratic governance — transforming Ukraine into a tyrannical cesspool in Europe's heartland — they lied claiming that "Ukrainians chose a free, democratic and independent future (sic)."

They falsely accused Russia of attempting "to undermine (its nonexistent) democracy."

The repeated the long ago debunked Big Lie claim that Russia annexed Crimea.

They falsely accused Moscow of "invad(ing) (what they called) "the Ukrainian border regions of Donbass in 2014 (sic) under the guise of protecting Russian citizens (sic)."

They lied claiming that Russia "aid(s)" Donetsk and Lugansk militarily against Ukraine.

They ignored preemptive made-in-the-USA war by Kiev on Donbass and UN Charter right of its people to respond to aggression defensively.

They lied claiming that "Russia could invade Ukraine as early as January."

A further litany of bald-faced Big Lies followed.

They transformed the holiday season spirit of peace on earth, good will toward all into into a gratuitous exercise of Russia-bashing.

Lacking just cause, they made stuff up.

The same goes for Biden regime hardliners, the vast majority in Congress and their MSM co-conspirators.

It's clear to the world community of nations that Russia threatens no one.

Not according to NYT fake news.

Falsely claiming that a "Russian threat looms (against) Ukraine," it repeated the Big Lie about built up Russian forces along its border (sic).

It lied saying that "Russia's military has a war plan envisioning an invasion with as many as 175,000 troops (sic)."

It defied reality by claiming that it's "unclear whether Vladimir Putin decided to invade (sic)" — knowing no Russian buildup exists, no invasion of Ukraine or any other countries planned.

According to Boston Globe fake news, "(a)s Russia gears up to invade Ukraine (sic), the West faces a choice (sic)."

"Appeasing Putin will only sharpen his appetite for conquest (sic)."

On Christmas eve, Canada's CBC falsely claimed that the Trudeau regime faces "tough choices ahead as Ukraine and Russia teeter on the brink of war (sic)."

Other MSM reports featured similar fake news against nonbelligerent Russia threatening no one.

On Christmas day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov cited indisputable history, saying:

"Russia never attacked anyone" preemptively.

Stressing that Moscow threatens no one, he correctly explained that its leadership continues going all-out to resolve years of war by Ukraine on Donbass according to the Normandy format and Minsk agreements.

Russia is a peacemaker in stark contrast to forever wars waged by US-dominated NATO.

Claims by US and Western officials otherwise — echoed by their MSM press agents — are part of longstanding Russia-bashing for invented reasons.

No legitimate ones exist.

A Final Comment

On December 14, the French navy's Auvergne multipurpose frigate docked in Odessa, Ukraine.

It was the 10th NATO warship to provocatively visit the country this year alone.

Imagine the reaction in Washington and European capitals if one or more Russian warships docked in Acapulco or other Mexican port cities.

Imagine the Western uproar if they entered Gulf of Mexico waters.

In November, Sergey Lavrov slammed what he called an aggressive US-led NATO policy toward Russia.

Moscow prioritizes higher standards in pursuing peace over hegemon USA's rage for forever wars on invented enemies.
