Hegemon USA's Deadliest Export

by Stephen Lendman

Washington's fantasy democracy is its deadliest export, the real thing banned at home and abroad.

Nations governed of, by and for everyone equitably are targeted for regime change by hot and/or other means, notably ones free from hegemonic US control.

Wherever elections are held worldwide, Washington tries to manipulate their outcome to install regimes subservient to its interests.

It's been this way at least since the mid-19th century.

General Smedley Butler (1881 - 1940) long ago explained how hegemon USA operates.

Calling himself "a high-class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers" throughout over 33 years of military service, he "might might have given Al Capone a few hints," he said.

"The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."

Mexican dictator Porfirio Diaz (1876 – 1910) lamented that his nation is "so far from God, so close to the US."

Many countries in the Americas and elsewhere are colonized under US control, their resources plundered, their people subjugated.

On Sunday, Russia's First Deputy Secretary Yuri Averyanov slammed the Biden regime's farcical summit for democracy, saying:

Hegemon USA "seek('s) to persuade (itself) that (it's) the only superpower, that its global dominance is unchallengeable, and that the entire world (must) align itself" subserviently to its interests.

"There('s) a saying in Russia that those who cannot do something themselves teach others instead."

"This is what the US is doing. It failed to build democracy at home but (seeks to export its fantasy version (to) other countries."

"What else can (hegemon) US do?"

It "can only play ideological games in a bid to persuade themselves and others that (it's) an example of democracy and has the moral right to decide which countries fit into this example…and which" are otherwise classified.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the Biden regime's summit for democracy was all about manipulating invited countries to bend to its will subserviently.

The US is systematically "dismantling the system of international relations, which is based on international law and the central role of the UN, for the sake of creating its own comfort zone, which it intends to dominate single-handedly," she explained.

Separately last week, Zakharova said Moscow warned the US against continued provocations near Russia's borders, stressing:

Unacceptable military activity by US-dominated NATO "along the perimeter of Russia's border, including flights by combat aircraft and dangerous maneuvers by naval ships, continues to spiral upwards."

"The US military and its NATO allies switched from attempts to test the system of our border protection to provocations against civilian aircraft, jeopardizing airspace safety and human lives."

Russia handed "the US embassy in Moscow a note of protest on Wednesday, warn(ing) of the dangerous consequences of such recklessness."

If provocations continue unchecked,  Moscow "will deploy all means at our disposal to prevent and remove emerging threats."

Toughness is the only language hegemon USA understands.

It's high time for Russia to give the US a taste of its own medicine, short of starting WW III.

Like all bullies, when confronted by someone able to hit back hard against unacceptable actions, the US is highly likely to back off, preferring battles with invented adversaries it can more easily shove around or otherwise intimidate.

In response to hostile Biden regime remarks and provocations, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov slammed what he called US "aggressive rhetoric," and military assets "advancing toward our territory," along with "pushing" Kiev to escalate greater aggression on Donbass.

Over the weekend, interventionist Blinken provocatively said that NATO membership is open to Ukraine and Georgia by complying with its criteria for joining the (war-making) alliance.

It's a red line Russia will counter if crossed.

Separately days earlier, US envoy to Georgia Kelly Degnan said it's up to its ruling authorities to decide what alliances they wish to join, adding:

US-installed NATO puppet Stoltenberg and interventionist Blinken "were very clear in their (days earlier) comments at the NATO Foreign Ministerial," saying:

Georgia and Ukraine will become members of the NATO alliance.

Vladimir Putin earlier minced no words stressing that "(t)he appearance on our borders of a powerful military bloc…will be considered by Russia as a direct threat to our country's security," adding:

Russian missiles will target Ukraine if it joins NATO or allows Washington's (solely for offense) missile defense shield to be installed in the country.

Separately, Putin said that granting NATO membership to Ukraine and Georgia will have "extremely negative" consequences.

"This (move would violate) treaties between Russia and NATO.

And this (would be) a destabilizing factor, which (we'd) have to factor in" and react to accordingly.

Separately, Sergey Lavrov earlier said that "attempts to draw Ukraine (and Georgia) into NATO would be negative for the entire system of European security, and we would be categorically against it."

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu earlier warned that Moscow "will act" if Ukraine and/or Georgia joins NATO – calling their admittance if occurs the "militarization of the European continent" against Russia more than already.

Russian relations with the US-dominated West are more strained that at any previous time during the post-WW II period.

Clearly, Moscow wants peace, stability and cooperative relations with other countries.

Its agenda is in stark contrast to hegemon USA's sought dominance over the world community of nations.

It's a prescription for heightened tensions, instability and risk of direct confrontation if things are pushed too far.
