Biden Regime's Afghan Policy: Forever War and Regime Change

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Both right wings of the US war party tolerate no nations free from their control.

They didn't wage forever war on Afghanistan to go quietly into that good night.

Their aim to control the country, its resources, population and Eurasia overall remains unchanged.

Most Afghans never knew peace in their lifetimes.

Nor is transition from endless war to the other way around likely ahead — not as long as hegemon USA's designs on their country remain hard-wired.

On Monday, Biden's impersonator said recognition of theTaliban as Afghanistan's government is "a long way off."

Last week, White House mouthpiece Psaki said the Biden regime is "in no rush" to accept Taliban rule — no rush to accept reality.

Prior to its triumph over US combat forces and Afghan proxies, Pakistan, the Saudis and UAE recognized the Taliban as Afghanistan's government.

Most nations are holding off extending recognition ahead of seeing how events unfold, including China and Russia.

Last week, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi urged elections in the country "as soon as possible," adding:

"A government should be established there which is elected by the votes and the will of the people."

"The Islamic Republic has always sought peace and calm in Afghanistan, and an end to bloodshed and fratricide, and the sovereignty of the people's will."

"We support a government elected by the Afghan people."

Separately, he slammed decades of US war and human rights abuses in the country, calling it a "silent catastrophe," adding:

"Americans with such a background and practice, instead of being held accountable in the face of public opinion of the world, resort to smear campaign against other countries under various pretexts."

"The world must hold the US to account for supporting terrorism fomented by the Daesh (ISIS) Takfiri group and other forms of this ominous phenomenon."

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to help establish peace, tranquility and security while preventing fratricide in Afghanistan."

Fighting continues in northern Panjshir province, according to an unnamed National Resistance Front (NRF) source, adding:

"(P)ositions of resistance fighters have been attacked by drones, so many of them had to retreat and leave for high-mountain areas."

"On Monday, intensive clashes continued, and they have been underway until now."

Clashes were also reported in Baghlan Province's Andarab district.

Taliban spokesperson Zabiullah Mujahid's announced end of war in the country appears greatly premature.

According to US joint chiefs chairman general Mark Milley, "conditions (in Afghanistan) are likely to develop (into) civil war," adding:

"(T)hat will then…lead to conditions that could…reconstitut(e) al-Qaeda…ISIS or other…terrorist groups."

Left unexplained by Milley is that these and other jihadist groups were established by the US to serve as Pentagon/CIA proxies — foot soldiers where deployed to serve US imperial interests.

Arms used by NRF, ISIS, al-Qaeda and other anti-Taliban elements were likely supplied by the US and other NATO countries with continuing forever war on Afghanistan and its people in mind.

According to Milley, Pentagon strikes on Afghanistan will continue if US interests are threatened — a phony pretext used time and again to wage forever wars that are all about advancing Washington's imperium.

Separately in response to Milley saying that the Pentagon could cooperate with the Taliban against ISIS (sic), its cultural commission member Anaamullah Samangani rejected the idea of continued US/NATO involvement in the country — with the interests of their ruling regimes in mind.

Forever US war OF terror, not on it, continues at home and abroad — how the scourge of imperialism operates, a self-defeating agenda over time that contributes to America's decline.

Commenting on US/NATO's rape and destruction of Afghanistan, Russia's Foreign Ministry spokeswoman said the following:

Washington is playing its customary blame game.

"The State Department nods towards the Pentagon."

"The Pentagon refers everyone to the State Department."

Biden's impersonator blames Trump.

He blames the Biden regime.

US-installed UN secretary general Guterres blames the "Afghan people" and pro-Western puppet president Ghani in exile.

Britain's Boris Johnson regime blames "those who struck a deal with the Taliban."

Forever war in Afghanistan was made-in-the-USA — the state-sponsored 9/11 mother of all false flags to that time a staged pretext.

Forever US war on the country continues by hot and other means with no end of it in prospect — the dismal reality long-suffering Afghans face.
