The Ugly Face of US Imperial Arrogance

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Along with the Pentagon, CIA, NED, USAID, and other US dark forces pursuing its imperial aims, interventionist Blinken is lead Biden regime hawk on all things foreign policy.

Resembling his immediate predecessors, he's a figure of disrepute, worlds apart what diplomacy is supposed to be — polar opposite his distinguished Russian counterpart.

Addressing the tragedy of Afghanistan on Wednesday, Vladimir Putin said the following:

"For twenty years, American troops had been (in Afghan) territory, and for twenty years they tried…to introduce their (own rejected) norms and standards."

"Tragedies and losses (for Afghans) were the only results of" its illegal occupation.

Separately, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov explained that hegemon USA continues "trying to form a belt of instability around us, forcing our closest neighbors, our brotherly peoples, to make a choice."

"Either you are with the West, or you are with the Russian Federation."

US dark forces "want to master the territory around our country both militarily and economically to surround us with a" cordon sanitaire.

They're "trying to expand their presence, including the military one along the perimeter of our borders, including Central Asia and Transcaucasus."

They "make no secret of the fact that they want to undermine (Russian) domestic political stability."

"They resort to a wide range of dirty tools and fake information, and put forward unsubstantiated accusations about Navalny and the Malaysian Boeing that crashed over Ukraine in July 2014, about the Skripals and many other things."

They wrecked many other countries post-WW II and now plot the same thing against Russia, China, Iran and other nations free from their control.

On Afghanistan, Lavrov said Russia knows the country well.

"We know how this country is organized and how counterproductive it is to impose any form of (foreign-controlled) governance."

"But the Americans tried to create what they consider to be democracy there" — a fantasy version under pro-Western puppet leadership, not the real thing it tolerates nowhere, especially not domestically.

Claims by four US regimes about going to Afghanistan to combat terrorism ignored their creation and support by the CIA and Pentagon for use as imperial proxies — notably ISIS and al-Qaeda.

With no end of Washington's support, their scourge continues to threaten Afghans, destabilizing the country — how hegemon USA operate in all countries free from its control.

Looking ahead, the Taliban will be falsely blamed for US orchestrated and directed violence, along with other hostile actions by ISIS and other jihadists its dark forces control.

By freezing billions of dollars of Afghan funds, Biden regime hardliners aim to undermine the country's reconstruction and economic development.

They want humanitarian crisis conditions perpetuated.

They want virtually anything and everything thrown at the country to prevent the Taliban from restoring peace and stability, from serving all Afghans as promised.

On Monday, interventionist Blinken recited a litany of bald-faced Big Lies about Washington's lost Afghan war, its pullout of combat troops, so-called diplomatic staff, and selectively chosen Afghans of value to US imperial interests.

None of the above served the country and its people.

None "rose to the challenge with determination and heart," obeying hegemon USA's orders alone as directed.

Blinken lied claiming otherwise — leaving explained that wherever US forces show up, mass slaughter, destruction and human misery follow.

Millions of corpses attest to the barbarity of Washington's rape, destruction and plunder of one country after another in pursuing its forever wars.

No "comforting of families…or compassionate courage" is offered or shown to occupied people — just the opposite.

The Afghan War Diaries published by WikiLeaks revealed deep-seated corruption, criminality, coverups, collusion, distortion, and duplicity – a sordid story of horrors committed by hegemon USA in the country, virtually the same thing wherever its forces show up.

Like the Pentagon Papers, the Afghan War Diaries comprised the "most significant (comprehensive) archive about the reality of" USA imperial warmaking.

All US wars of choice follow similar patterns, the human cost never a consideration, including the devastating toll on US service members.

It includes deaths, mutilations, disabling injuries, PTSD, suicides, exposure to deadly toxins, and denial of proper care to vets.

They're mistreated, misdiagnosed, given substandard care, denied disability benefits — virtually abandoned when no longer needed.

Like Daniel Ellsberg earlier, WikiLeaks — and Julian Assange personally — provided a vital service by lifting the fog of war, revealing what establishment media suppress.

The true face of US aggression includes human carnage, gruesome atrocities, rampaging death squads, massacring civilians, murdering women and children, torturing victims, and operating freely under a media blackout.

There's nothing remotely humanitarian about US wars of aggression, extrajudicially targeting nations free from its control.

Withdrawing combat troops from Afghanistan by no means ended US war or designs on the country, its resources and strategically located territory.

Imperial war on the nation continues in new form that likely includes wanting its people starved into submission to higher foreign power.

In 2020, so-called Caesar Act legislation was enacted with the above objective in mind for Syrians.

Will similar legislation target Afghans the same way?

Endless US war against them is likely to continue covertly and overtly indefinitely, the Taliban to be falsely blamed for US state-sponsored terrorism and other high crimes.

Blinken left the ugly face of US imperialism unexplained.

Instead, he falsely claimed that a "new chapter of America's engagement with Afghanistan has begun (sic)."

It's same old, same old war on humanity, employing new and old tactics with US imperial aims in mind — at the expense of virtually everything just societies hold dear.

That's how hegemon USA operates everywhere — an unparalleled threat to humanity at home and abroad.
