Hostile to China US/Japanese Remarks

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

On Friday, Biden's impersonator and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga met at the White House.

At their joint news conference, the fake Biden said the following:

The US and Japan are "committed to working together to take on the challenges from China (sic) and on issues like the East China Sea, the South China Sea, as well as North Korea (sic)."

Longstanding US policy prioritizes control over planet earth, its resources and populations — by brute force if other tactics fail.

Its hostile Indo/Pacific actions have nothing to do with "ensur(ing) a…free and open" region — just the opposite.

Biden's double announced what he called "a new Competitive Resilience partnership." For the US, it's all about advancing its hegemonic agenda.

Defying reality, their joint statement falsely accused China of actions "inconsistent with the international rules-based order…peace and prosperity (sic)."

The hostile to peace Biden regime pledged "unwavering support for Japan's defense (with) full (use of its) range of capabilities, including nuclear."

According to Xinhua, China's US embassy "expressed its firm opposition to (US/Japanese) comments on Friday.

They "attempt to stoke division and build blocs against other countries."

They went "far beyond the scope of normal development of bilateral relations."

Taiwan, Hong Kong, Xinjiang, the South and East China Seas are part of Beijing's territorial integrity.

No interference in its internal affairs will be tolerated.

Friday US/Japanese remarks were "extremely irresponsible and will gravely damage the immediate interests of regional countries and peoples."

China's Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said the following in response to their unacceptable remarks:

"Taiwan and Diaoyu Dao are both Chinese territory."

"Issues relating to Hong Kong and Xinjiang are purely China's internal affairs."

"China has indisputable sovereignty over islands in the South China Sea and waters around them."

"The (US-Japanese) statement grossly interferes in China's domestic affairs and severely violates basic norms governing international relations."

"China deplores and rejects it."

"We have stated our solemn position to the US and Japan through the diplomatic channel."

"While talking about 'free and open," the US and Japan are actually ganging up to form cliques and fanning bloc confrontation."

"This anachronistic move runs counter to the aspiration for peace, development and cooperation shared by the overwhelming majority of countries in the region and beyond."

"It will only enable the world to see with increasing clarity the detrimental nature of the US-Japan alliance, which attempts to undermine regional peace and stability."

"China will take all necessary measures to resolutely defend its sovereignty, security and development interests."

Separately on Friday, China's Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng said the following:

"Regrettably, there is a negative tendency in the United States…"

"Some people are competing for being tougher on China and taking this as a politically correct thing to do."

"Some still refuse to accept that the 1.4 billion Chinese people have the right to pursue a better life, and that China has the right to pursue its own path of development, the path of socialism with Chinese characteristics."

"This tendency is dangerous, and could derail this relationship and lead the world to catastrophes."

"Such tendency must be stopped."

"(N)o country" has a right to interfere in the internal affairs of others — what the US does repeatedly worldwide.

On all things "Syria and Libya" alone, 10 years after US aggression was launched, "(h)ow many people (died) became refugees and host their homes," Le asked?

"(W)here is (the US promised Arab) spring?"

"Instead of spring, there are wars, hunger and refugees" — in multiple countries because of US aggression against invented enemies.

Le stressed the inviolability of China's sovereign rights. Nor will it tolerate actions by other nations to violate them.

Beijing rejects what the US and Japan falsely called China's Indo-Pacific "intimidation."

For the first time in over half a century, Japan and the US unacceptably mentioned Taiwan in a joint statement.

According to geopolitical analyst Lu Xiang, US/Japanese Friday remarks represent "the most serious political provocation to China since Sino-Japanese bilaterals were established" post-WW II, adding:

Tokyo "can't expect to maintain its economic interests with China while (allying with the US against its) security."

"Japan has long been under the US sway when it comes to geopolitical autonomy, but we wish to see Japan to maintain its strategic autonomy like we do with Europe, especially when it comes to important agenda such as Taiwan."

"Otherwise, it will not only damage the relationship with China but also contribute nothing to regional peace."

Sino/US expert Shi Yinhong called US/Japanese remarks a "very serious (breach of) the commonly accepted bottom line over Taiwan issues between China and Japan…exhaust(ing) whatever was left of China and Japan's bilateral political foundations."

In March, Biden regime interventionist Blinken and war secretary Austin met with their Japanese counterparts in Tokyo.

They "committed to oppose (what they falsely called) China's (regional) coercion and destabilizing behavior…"

On Monday, 25 PLA warplanes overflew Taiwan's air defense identification zone.

According to Shi, the action "indicates that geopolitical strategic confrontation between China, Japan and the US will intensify."

"It also means the ideological opposition between China and US military allies will escalate."

Notably since selected, unelected, Biden replaced Trump in January, hardliners in charge of his regime are recklessly pushing the envelope for possible direct confrontation with Russia and China.

Their rage for unchallenged global dominance risks setting planet earth ablaze in pursuit of their hegemonic aim to own it.
