One-Sided Media Cheerleading for Biden/Harris

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman

Throughout the race for the White House, establishment media abandoned what journalism the way it's supposed to be is all about.

Advocacy for Biden/Harris replaced it, press agent reporting, not the real thing.

On Saturday, the disturbing spectacle culminated with mass media anointment of Biden as president-elect — ignoring what has clear earmarks of systemic fraud for him over Trump.

The self-styled newspaper of record NYT finds new ways to disgrace itself.

In 2000, its soul was sold to losers Bush/Cheney over winner Al Gore who failed to contest for the office he won.

When Trump came on the scene, it was the other way around by Times editors for war goddess Hillary.

This year it's for cognitively and physically deteriorated Biden, a figure no longer able to handle the rigors of high office.

So he'll only go through the motions if inaugurated in January.

For as long as he lasts, a look-alike double will impersonate him in public appearances because mumbling, bumbling rhetoric by the real thing is too unacceptable to turn him loose on his own.

In its latest edition, Times editors pretended that Biden defeated Trump fair and square, that the US election process is democratic.

"Trump's four-year assault on our democratic institutions and values will soon end," they roared.

Ignored was that no "democratic institutions" exist for anyone to assault.

Turning reality on its head, Times editors pretended that Biden will serve all Americans equitably.

Polar opposite is true about US governance by both right wings of the one-party state.

Instead of explaining how things really work — privileged interests served exclusively over the general welfare by both parties — the Times falsely claimed that "America gives its citizenry (the right to) decid(e) what kind of nation this will be."

Reality is worlds apart from the above deception. Ordinary Americans have no reasons to "celebrat(e)" no matter how so-called US elections turn out.

Privileged interests win every time at their expense, things far worse today than when Franklin Roosevelt, Dwight Eisenhower, and Jack Kennedy were president.

We've sunk to the level of Trump v. Biden/Harris — making the US political system a laughing stock on the world stage.

They'll be no "big thinking and bold action" by Biden/Harris regime governance.

There's plenty about Trump's tenure to criticize. I've done it repeatedly throughout his time in office.

Claiming he "undermine(d) the nation's democratic foundations" by Times editors ignored that none exist to undermine by anyone in Washington.

The notion that a lame, halt shadow of his former self Biden will "make America greater than ever before" is typical rubbish Times editors, columnists and correspondents feed their readers over doing their jobs.

Separately, a pro-Biden/Harris puff piece by historian David Blight claimed their "victory" over Trump serves "the rest of the citizenry," blaming him for a "broken" America in need of fixing, adding:

"Trump's presidency is the result of a long history of the Republican Party's descent into moral bankruptcy," claiming Obama's tenure "was startling progress," calling Trump's term a "scar" on the body politic.

On virtually all issues mattering most, there's nary a difference between both right wings of duopoly governance — what establishment media and their contributors never explain.

No matter who serves in high executive branch, congressional, or judicial office, US governance is for the privileged few exclusively at the expense of most others.

Neither Trump, Biden/Harris, or anyone else will change things.

The American way is too debauched to fix. Elections assure unacceptable continuity.

The only solution is popular grassroots revolution.

Power yields nothing without demands.

Positive change comes no other way — always from the bottom up, never the top down, clearly not when farcical elections are held.

People power can change things. The alternative is growing tyranny under both wings of the US one-party state.

A Final Comment

On Saturday, a Trump regime statement in his name said the following:

"We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him."

"They don't want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over."

"Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor."

"In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process."

"Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media."

"Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated."

"The American people are entitled to an honest election. That means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots."

"This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election."

"It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters."

"Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the count room – and then fight in court to block their access."

"So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American people have the honest vote count they deserve…"

On Friday, Trump campaign general counsel Matt Morgan said the following:

"The elections are not over yet. The false projection of Joe Biden as the winner is based on results in four states that are far from final."

"There were many irregularities in" these states.

"Biden is relying on these states for his phony claim on the White House, but once the election is final…Trump will be re-elected."

On Saturday, Trump advisor Rudy Giuliani said he's "not going to concede."

Separately, deputy press secretary Judd Deere said he'll "accept the results of a free and fair election."

Officially, things remain undecided.

Yet establishment media on their own declared Biden/Harris victorious over Trump.

It's another black mark on their already deeply blackened status as a purveyor of fake news, not the real thing.
