Final NYT Pre-Election Anti-Trump Salvo

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

As in 2016 for Hillary, the self-styled newspaper of record campaigned relentlessly for Biden/Harris — ignoring fair and balanced reporting, a notion it long ago abandoned.

In its election day edition, it delivered one more anti-Trump salvo, featuring a barrage of hostile reports — by Times editors, correspondents and contributors.

Even elderly Harry Belafonte (aged-93) was trotted out at the 11th hour to bash Trump.

In a likely ghost-written piece, he railed at length against Trump — ignoring that both right wings of the one-party state follow similar domestic and geopolitical agendas.

Times editors in support of Biden/Harris gave it their last anti-Trump shot — falsely claiming that supporting the former over the incumbent is "voting to start over."

Whenever names and faces change in Washington, dirty business as usual continues as always — especially since the Clinton co-presidency and post-9/11.

Times editors never miss an opportunity to perpetuate the myth of US democracy.

On election day, they defied reality, saying:

On election day 2000, "the health of American democracy hangs in the balance (sic)."

While an unprecedented number of voting-age Americans cast ballots pre-election, most exercising their franchise are unaware that they have no say over how the US is run.

The Times and other establishment media suppress what's vital for everyone to know, including about its debauched electoral system that assures similar outcomes every time.

Both right wings of the one-party state take turns governing, what I've explained many times.

Independents are consistently shut out, notably candidates for peace, equity, justice, and the rule of law.

Public welfare isn't represented democratically in Washington's halls of power, just the opposite.

In their final pre-election Trump bashing broadside, Times editors accused him of "rul(ing) by fiat…besieg(ing) his opponents, and demanding that they surrender."

The above is how the US operates on the world stage.

Ignored by the Times was how undemocratic Dems invented phony reasons to try unlawfully removing Trump from office by impeachment — including use of the DNC-funded Christopher Steele's dodgy dossier.

The dubious stunt was part of the Russiagate plot to delegitimize Trump, including by phony accusations of Russian US election meddling.

Hillary and the DNC used the dossier for this purpose – fabricated rubbish to serve their interests, a way to back her election as president, a failed plot.

Recriminations followed from then to now, including by the Times and other anti-Trump media.

Both right wings of the US one-party state are undemocratic.

Dems have been especially over-the-top in the run-up to the 2016 presidential election and its aftermath to this day.

Law Professor Jonathan Turley  called Dems "an anti-free speech party, including demands for limiting speech on the Internet and social media."

Times editors use their platform to one-sidedly bash Trump while supporting unlawful and unethical actions by undemocratic Dems.

They use it as a weapon in pursuit of their interests while pretending the US is a "representative democracy…committed to…the rule of law (sic)."

On October 6, Times editors reinvented Biden in endorsing him for president.

Claiming he'll serve "all Americans (and) restore" the nation's soul" ignored his near-half-century exclusive deference to privileged interests at the expense of ordinary Americans.

Saying he's "well suited to the challenge" of leading the nation ignored his cognitive and physical decline.

Pretending he's "rooted in steadiness, experience, compassion and decency" turned a blind eye to the true measure of the man.

Saying he'll "embrace the rule of law and restore public confidence in democratic institutions" is polar opposite how the nation has been governed from inception.

Instead of journalism the way it's supposed to be on its pages, the Times consistently goes another way.

Neither right wing of the US one-party state warrants public support.

Whoever controls the White House and Congress post-election 2020, militarists and monied interests will be exclusively served at the expense of world peace and general welfare.

What the Times and other establishment should explain, they consistently suppress, featuring rubbish instead.
