Fantasy Democracy Britain a Longtime US Poodle

by Stephen Lendman(stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

In his 1946 MO-based Westminster College Iron Curtain address, Winston Churchill noted "a special relationship between the British Commonwealth and empire and the United States."

Months earlier, he stressed that "Britain should not abandon our special relationship with the United States…"

In 1930, British Prime Minister Ramsay MacDonald affirmed what began in the mid-19th century — a special relationship between Britain and its former US colony.

Today it's the other way around. The colonizer became a US colony, both nations linked by economic ties, their fantasy democracy rule, neoliberal exploitation of their people, an insatiable appetite for endless wars on nations threatening no one, and hostility toward nations free from Western control.

On Sunday, Westminster press agent London Guardian published a Reuters propaganda piece that falsely accused Russia of testing an anti-satellite weapon in space.

UK war secretary Ben Wallace's Big Lie was quoted, saying:

"This week we have been reminded of the threat Russia poses to our national security with the provocative test of a weapon-like projectile from a satellite threatening the peaceful use of space (sic)," adding:

"China, too, is developing offensive space weapons, and both nations are upgrading their capabilities (sic)."

"Such behavior only underlines the importance of the review the (UK) government is currently conducting."

Like other Western nations, Britain is a US poodle, partnering in the worst of its wrongdoing, threatening world peace and stability.

Ruling regimes of both countries falsely blame nations threatening no one for their own high crimes, inventing other non-credible accusations.

On orders from Washington, Britain partnered with US war on Russia and China by other means, destroying earlier cooperative relations with both countries by pandering to imperial USA.

Separately, the Guardian pushed the Big Lie accusation of Russian interference in UK elections that never happened — not in Britain, the US, or anywhere else.

The hoax was originated by US intelligence and undemocratic Dems, never citing evidence because none exists.

In November 2017, then-UK PM Theresa May said: "Russia, we know what you are doing (sic)," falsely accusing Vladimir Putin of "weaponizing information" to sow discord in the West — knowing Kremlin policy under his leadership pursues polar opposite policies.

Russia and China both seek cooperative relations with other nations, hostility toward none — worlds apart from how the US, UK, and their imperial partners operate.

Like other establishment media, the Guardian defied reality, falsely claiming Moscow threatens UK security — knowing full well no such threat exists.

Last week, a virtual Guardian state-approved report repeated the US Big Lie about Russia launching an "anti-satellite weapon" in space.

UK space directorate air vice marshal Harvey Smyth was quoted saying:

"We are concerned by the manner in which Russia tested one of its satellites by launching a projectile with the characteristics of a weapon (sic)," adding:

"Actions of this kind threaten the peaceful use of space and risk causing debris that could pose a threat to satellites and the space systems on which the world depends. We call on Russia to avoid any further such testing (sic)."

Explained in a same-day article, no Russian anti-satellite or other weapon was launched into outer space by its military.

The Trump and Johnson claims otherwise were bald-faced Big Lies, part of their war on Russia by other means.

Time and again, the US, UK, and their imperial partners conduct provocative actions against other nations, notably their preemptive wars against nonbelligerent states throughout the post-WW II period.

Sino/Russian policies are polar opposite — at war with no other nations, threatening none.
