Russia v. Imperial USA on Syria

Russia supports Syria's sovereign independence and rights of its people to live in peace — free from domination of a hostile imperial power.

US policy toward all nations is polar opposite.

Both right wings of its war party seek unchallenged control over planet earth, its resources and populations, what its imperial scourge is all about, humanity's greatest threat.

US aggression against the Syrian Arab Republic is in its 10th year, no end of it in prospect.

Its rage for transforming the country into a subservient vassal state prevents restoration of peace and stability — anathema notions to its warlord ruling authorities.

With no prospect of achieving their imperial aims, they're hellbent to impose maximum pain and suffering on the Syrian people through forever war — using terrorist proxies, aided by Pentagon-led terror-bombing.

US proxies include ISIS, al-Nusra, and likeminded jihadists against government forces and civilians, including use of chemical and other banned weapons, Damascus falsely blamed for their high crimes.

Forever war is official US policy in all its active theaters — endless conflicts to feed its rapacious military, industrial, security, media complex, profiting from mass slaughter, vast destruction and human misery.

A days earlier article explained that Russia wants vital unimpeded humanitarian aid going to Syrian civilians in need.

It opposes the US-led Western scheme, wanting aid meant for them diverted to ISIS, al-Nusra and other jihadists — wanting 17 million Syrian starved into submission.

On Tuesday, Russia and China vetoed an anti-Syria Security Council resolution submitted by Germany and Belgium on behalf of US/NATO/Israeli imperial interests.

Their aim is aiding jihadists by stealing humanitarian food, medicines, and other supplies meant for Syrian civilians.

During Security Council debate, Russia argued for use of a single humanitarian corridor to deliver vital aid to their people — what the Trump regime and Western imperial partners in high crimes oppose.

On July 10, Moscow's UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia explained why "(t)he Russian Federation (twice vetoed the Trump regime's supported) draft (SC) extension of the cross-border mechanism (CBM) of humanitarian aid delivery to Syria, prepared by Belgium and Germany" on its behalf.

The new draft is the unacceptable initial one in new form, fooling no one.

It's "disconnected from the reality on the ground," Nebenzia stressed, adding:

The CBM established in 2014 was and remains "an urgent and temporary exceptional measure."

"(I)t contradicts international humanitarian law and undermines Syrian sovereignty."

Russia went along with it because of the urgency of providing Syrian civilians with vital humanitarian aid.

The need continues because of endless US-led aggression that's all about pursuing its diabolical imperial aims — that rage in multiple theaters, the highest of all high crimes against peace and the rule of law.

Nebenzia: "We repeatedly pointed out to the problems in the work of CBM monitoring system, including its accountability."

"These problems remain unresolved. Bearing this in mind, our position on the mechanism has always been clear – the gradual closure of the crossing points and phasing out of the whole mechanism based on the assessment of the situation in the country."

Millions of Syrians in need should be able to receive food, medicines, and other humanitarian supplies regularly — unobstructed by the Pentagon, CIA, NATO, and their jihadist proxies.

As long as endless US aggression continues, Russia is going all-out to provide Syrians in need with vital humanitarian aid on its own.

Nebenzia condemned "the negative impact of (unlawful US) sanctions" and legislation that aim to starve millions of Syrians into submission.

"At the same time, areas beyond the control of the legitimate Syrian authorities fully enjoy the 'free of sanctions' regime."

"Unilateral sanctions must be lifted and international humanitarian assistance for Syria should be put into universally agreed framework with respect to the UN guiding principles of such aid, as stipulated in the GA resolution 46/182."

The US, Britain, France, and their imperial partners rejected Russia's aim to maintain humanitarian aid deliveries to Syrians in need (mainly in Idlib province) through a single CBM for another year.

Nebenzia stressed that another "year of uninterrupted functioning of (the) CBM…will…guarantee necessary assistance for inhabitants of the northwest of Syria."

The Trump regime and its imperial partners want maximum pain and suffering inflicted on Syrians.

It's one of countless examples of what the scourge of imperialism is all about.

As of now, the US and its rogue partners blocked adoption of a Russian SC resolution to assure continued unobstructed humanitarian aid to Syrians in need for another year.

What's next remains uncertain.
