The NYT: Proliferator of Fake News Over Hard Truths

Throughout most of its history, the Times operated still operates as an imperial mouthpiece — promoting what demands denunciation.

On major issues mattering most, notably geopolitical ones, fake news substitutes for truth and full disclosure.

Material on its pages are carefully filtered, dissent marginalized in support of wealth and power interests.

US wars of aggression against nonthreatening nations are considered liberating struggles.

Abandonment of the rule of law at home and abroad is considered in the national interest.

Patriotism means going along with rogue state lawless rule by both wings of the US war party.

Major media like the Times operate as a collective handmaiden to powerful interests — doing their bidding at the expense of journalism the way it's supposed to be.

Last week, Times propaganda sank to a new low — falsely accusing Russia of offering the Taliban in Afghanistan bounties to kill US troops.

Citing the usual anonymous sources known to be disreputable, the accusation was debunked by Russia's Foreign Ministry, the White House, the Pentagon, the Taliban — even the CIA indirectly by not supporting it.

The Times fake news story was the latest chapter in the long ago discredited Russiagate Big Lie that won't die.

On the one hand, it aims to weaken Trump's chance for a second term by claiming he was briefed but did nothing — falsely labeling him "Putin's puppet."

At the same time, it supports US dark forces that want permanent occupation of Afghanistan, what was planned when preemptive US war on the country was launched based on Big Lies.

DNI John Ratcliffe denied that either Trump or Pence were briefed on intelligence alleged by the Times.

The US intends permanent occupation of nations it preemptively attacked since the 1980s.

Permitting them to regain sovereign independence is considered a threat to US national security.

The latest twist in the fake news Times story claims Russia offered bounties to (mysterious undefined) Afghan criminals, not the Taliban, to kill US forces — the same or similar disreputable sources cited.

Anonymous sources nearly always are dubious. When credible evidence doesn't support accusations or allegations, they're groundless.

As a previous article stressed, what possible motive could Russia have to want to kill small numbers of US military personnel in Afghanistan or anywhere else — none whatever!

Notably under Vladimir Putin, Moscow sought and continues to seek normalized relations with the US and West.

Why would he or other Kremlin officials do anything to undermine this objective?

Russia seeks cooperative relations with all other nations, at war with none, threatening none.

Despite its good faith efforts, both hardline wings of the US one-party state wage unrelenting war on the country by other means — their policy toward all nations free from US control.

According to Russian envoy to Washington Anatoly Antonov, false claims by the Times are all about wanting "mutually respectful dialogue between Russia and the United States" disrupted.

GOP Senator Joni Ernst called the Times report "absolutely inaccurate," adding:

"I had a (White House) briefing (on Tuesday), and I know that the (alleged) evidence is not corroborated."

Dems are "making a big deal of this (now). They had access to that same sort of (dubious) information months ago" and ignored it for lack of credibility.

GOP Senators Marco Rubio and Todd Young also dismissed the Times story as fake news.

Dems of course jump on anything to weaken Trump's chance for reelection. The same goes for the Times and most other US establishment media.

They long ago fell from grace, their credibility as reliable sources of news, information and analysis shattered.

What the Times calls "news fit to print" is misinformation, disinformation, and Big Lies no responsible editors and publishers would touch.

On major issues mattering most, establishment media time and again lie and deceive readers and viewers — feeding them rubbish that serves powerful interests at the expense of the public welfare.

It's why following reliable independent sources of news, information and analysis, mainly online, is the ONLY way to get informed and stay that way.

In the Internet age, it's easy, minimal effort alone required.

Thomas Jefferson called an educated citizenry "a vital requisite for our survival as a free people."

James Madison warned that "(a) popular government, without popular information, or the means of acquiring it, is but a prologue to a farce or a tragedy, or, perhaps both."

That's the deplorable state of the US today, at war on humanity at home and abroad.

Falsely blaming other nations for its own high crimes, the Times and other establishment media support the imperial state.

They operate as advocates for might over right, not the other way around, mass deception their specialty — resembling what Orwell called a Ministry of Truth, controlling the message, suppressing what conflicts with it.

Following them assures public ignorance, state-approved propaganda, not information on major issues vital for everyone to know.
