Hollow Dem Opposition to Netanyahu Regime's Annexation Scheme

On May 14, 1948, a date that will live in infamy, Harry Truman became the first world leader to recognize the newly proclaimed state of Israel — on stolen Palestinian land.

From archived US documents, he signed the following statement, saying:

"This government (the US) has been informed that a Jewish state has been proclaimed in Palestine, and recognition has been requested by the (provisional) government thereof."

"The United States recognizes the provisional government as the de facto authority of the new Jewish state."

The last three words were crossed out on the document, replaced by the "state of Israel."

The document is in the Harry S. Truman Presidential Library.

On the same date, a State Department document informed US regional missions and consulates of Washington's official recognition.

Nothing about Palestinian Nakba suffering was explained by Truman, his State Department, or the US ruling class from then to now.

An unnamed Jew at the time of the Nakba said the following about catastrophic harm to Palestinians:

"As a Jew who was raised to believe in justice for all peoples, I believe that it is my obligation to speak out about Israel and to try in whatever way possible to bring about a better life in Palestine for the people who belong there…the people who were so cruelly evicted from their lands."

A Palestinian's remarks were as follows:

"I cannot forget…horror-filled days…The pain sears my memory, and I cannot rid myself of it no matter how hard I try."

"First, Israeli soldiers forced thousands of Palestinians from their homes near the Mediterranean coast, even though some families had lived in the same houses for centuries."

"I remembered overhearing my father and his friends express alarm about recent massacres by Jewish terrorists."

Survivors remember Deir Yassin. On April 9, 1948, Jewish soldiers entered the village violently. They machine-gunned houses randomly. Many inside were slaughtered. 

Remaining villagers were assembled and murdered in cold blood. 

Among them were children, infants, the elderly and women who were first raped. 

Scores of defenseless Palestinians threatening no one were murdered by Jewish terrorists.

These are the people Truman recognized, the ancestors of today's Israeli ruling class — representing what the scourge of Zionism is all about.

It fosters militarism, belligerence, fascism, racism, state-sponsored terrorism, collective punishment, and blaming victims for crimes committed against them, along with disdain for peace, rule of law principles, and other democratic values.

Zionist extremism harms Jews and non-Jews alike.

Tyranny by another name, it's contemptuous of fundamental legal, moral and ethical principles.

Fostering violence and other forms of brute force, it rejects the notion of government serving all its people, not just the privileged few, persecuting no one for any reasons.

The notion of a democratic Jewish state is one of history's disturbing myths about a nation contemptuous of the idea. 

Of course, the same applies to US and other Western countries, scorning the notion of democratic governance from inception, tolerating it neither at home or abroad.

As long as the state of Israel exists and is governed by its criminal class, regional peace will be unattainable.

Ignoring its highest of high crimes, the US encourages them by handing Israel over $10 million daily, repeat daily, of US taxpayer dollars — along with the latest weapons and other material support.

No nation gets more support by the US than Israel, none less deserving, none more ruthless, none more threatening to regional peace and stability, along with the presence of Pentagon forces and CIA operatives.

Four pro-Israel, anti-peace, anti-Palestinian US Dem House members circulated a letter among its other members that pretends concern about Netanyahu's plan to annex illegal settlements and the Jordan Valley.

I say pretends because throughout Jewish state history, House and Senate members turned a blind eye to its crimes of war and against humanity, its illegal settlements, its racist laws, its apartheid persecution of an entire people for praying to the wrong god — with the rarest of rare exceptions.

Dems Jan Schakowsky, Ted Deutch, David Price, and Bradley Schneider are not among the few profiles of courage on this and most other vital issues.

Their letter smacks of hypocrisy. Claiming to support "democratic values" belies their congressional record, compounded by falsely calling Israel a "democratic state."

There's nothing remotely democratic about its militarized occupation, apartheid persecution, and daily state terror against millions of Palestinians — besieged Gazans harmed most of all for political, not security, reasons.

Saying they support "a negotiated peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians resulting in two states for two peoples and a brighter future for the Israeli people and the Palestinian people" ignores the greatest hoax in modern times — along with the US global war OF terror, never on it.

A two-state solution was always pure fantasy, the US and Israel rejecting the idea while pretending otherwise — why it was never possible, clearly not now.

With Israel controlling virtually all valued West Bank and Jerusalem land, a one-state solution for all the people of historic Palestine is the only viable option.

Even that won't work under a colonial apartheid system, enforced through the barrel of heavy weapons, an elitist Israeli ruling class exploiting all others — ordinary Jews and Palestinians alike, the way things are now.

As long as the US and other Western nations one-sidedly support Israel as they have throughout its existence, Palestinians will continue being denied their fundamental rights.

Militarized occupation won't change, nor will exploitation of the unempowered by the super-empowered be transformed into governance serving everyone equitably.

What's never been before in the West or Jewish state has no possibility of becoming reality ahead without popular grassroots revolutionary change — only possible by longterm struggle.

The congressional four one-sidedly support Israel.

Like the vast majority in Congress and the White House — now and earlier — they're uncaring about long-suffering Palestinians they don't give a hoot about.

They never did and never will — unless forced to respect their long-denied rights.
