NYT Hypocrisy

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The self-styled newspaper of record shames what journalism the way it should be is all about.

Long ago abandoned by its management and editors, the broadsheet operates exclusively as a mouthpiece for wealth and power interests.

State-approved propaganda substitutes for all the news that's fit to print, the latter absent from its editions on issues mattering most.

The shame of the broadsheet was prominently featured over Memorial Day weekend.

In response to around 100,000 US lives lost to the likely made-in-the-USA/unleashed on humanity SARS-Cov-2 virus that causes COVID-19 illness — the real toll maybe much higher — the Times devoted its front page and 11 more to disingenuously mourning the dead under the headline: "An Incalculable Loss."

Similar Times shamelessness commemorated around 3,000 lives lost on 9/11 — the mother of all US state-sponsored false flags the broadsheet never explained on its pages.

What the Times and other establishment media suppress is what's most important to report.

All lost lives are tragedies to loved ones, whether prematurely  or later in life.

Instead of truth-telling about 9/11 18 years after a day that will live in infamy forever, the Times perpetuated the Big Lie, saying:

"It has been 18 years since terrorists commandeered airplanes and the twin towers of the World Trade Center were brought down."

No foreign terrorists were involved in what happened. Bin Laden was dying in a Pakistani hospital, visited by the local CIA station chief at the time.

He passed away of natural causes in December 2001 — repeat: December 2001, reported by the Times months later and by other major media, including the BBC and Fox News.

Obama did not kill Obama. The Big Lie persists otherwise, perpetuated by establishment media like the Times.

Aircraft had nothing to do with downing the twin towers. Destruction was caused by rigging floors with explosives powerful enough to bring them down by free-fall — what no planes could accomplish.

What's crucial about that fateful day is what followed — endless US wars of aggression against nonbelligerent states threatening no one, monied interests profiting hugely from what happened along with America transformed into a police state by legislation and presidential diktats.

All of the above was and continues to be supported by the Times and other establishment media — their propaganda reports making them complicit with US war on humanity at home and abroad.

COVID-19 outbreaks and deaths have clear earmarks of 9/11 2.0, US state-sponsored terror unleashed on humanity worldwide once again.

It already caused far more domestic harm than 9/11 because of economic collapse that's likely to wreck tens of millions of American lives longterm.

The diabolical scheme is all about letting corporate favorites consolidate to great size and market dominance, along with achieving an unprecedented transfer of wealth from ordinary Americans to the nation's power elite — a further step toward making the nation a ruler-serf society, a long sought objective of its ruling class.

Devoting much of its Sunday edition to listing names and a one-line description of 1,000 Americans lost to COVID-19, 1% of the total so far, was typical Times hypocrisy.

The shameless display ignored the horrific toll on ordinary people in the US and worldwide from what appears to be US biological warfare on humanity — unleashed for greater wealth, power, and control over planet earth, its resources and populations.

Nor has the Times ever explained US responsibility for countless tens of millions of lost lives worldwide, vast destruction, and horrific human misery from its wars of aggression and by other means against one country after another throughout the post-WW II period.

Nameless, faceless victims of US imperial viciousness get no attention on its pages.

Nor does US fantasy democracy, its one-party rule with two right wings, its abhorrence of peace, stability, social justice, and the rule of law, its rage to smash nations to control them.

Like no other nation in world history because of its super-weapons able to end life on earth if unleashed, the US is an unprecedented menace to humanity's survival for its obsession to dominate other nations by pressure, bribery, bullying, or bludgeoning them into submission.

What the Times should have featured over the weekend and in daily editions, it swept under the rug and ignored — replaced by disingenuous mourning over ordinary people it doesn't give a damn about, and it shows.
