Trump Regime to Formally Approve Illegal Israeli Annexation of Palestinian Land

Trump and Netanyahu are two sides of the same coin with a nationality difference.

Both relish war. They serve privileged interests and themselves exclusively, along with enforcing harsh crackdowns on resisters — at the expense of peace, stability, equity, and social justice they disdain.

A core part of the Trump regime's no-peace/peace plan — jointly drafted with Netanyahu — is annexing illegal Israeli settlements, the Jordan Valley, and northern Dead Sea, plus any other Palestinian land Israel wishes.

Annexation when formally completed will leave millions of Palestinians isolated in cantons on worthless scrubland — surrounded by hostile settlers and Israeli security forces with orders to use live fire and other forms of violence freely to deny long-suffering Palestinians their fundamental rights.

Besieged Gazans are isolated in the world's largest open-air prison, enduring a daily struggle to survive.

Israel uses the Strip for target practice, terror-bombing it at its discretion, along with cross-border incursions to terrorize residents, uproot their crops, and destroy their property.

The West Bank and greater Jerusalem are pockmarked with illegal Israeli settlements, military bases, free-fire zones, Jews-only commercial locations, tourist sites, nature reserves, no-go areas, apartheid roads, checkpoints, the separation wall, and other exclusive Jewish areas. 

Throughout the Occupied Territories, including offshore Gazan waters, Israel controls water, hydrocarbon reserves, and other resources that rightfully belonging to Palestinians.

In the wake of the Netanyahu/Gantz power-sharing agreement, empowering the prime minister after his key challenger surrendered to his demands, the Trump regime said it's ready to recognize Israel's grandest of grand thefts of Palestinian land.

A two-state solution was off the table long ago. Annexation of Israeli settlements, the Jordan Valley and northern Dead Sea will plunge a final nail into the corpse of Palestinian statehood.

Nothing stands in the way of Netanyahu pressing ahead with is scheme.

As long as Israeli has Washington's approval of its policies, no matter how contrary to the rule of law, it's uncaring about whether the world community goes along or disapproves.

In 1948, Israel stole 78% of historic Palestine, taking the rest in June 1967.

Trump's approval of Netanyahu's annexation scheme will leave Palestinians surrounded and occupied with no power to contest their fate, a third intifada on their own their only option. The alternative is virtual enslavement.

The world community is indifferent to their suffering and fundamental rights, the US, UK, and other key nations hostile to them by failing to lift a finger to help — how it's been since the infamous 1917 Balfour Declaration, the beginning of the end for Palestinian rights.

On Monday, the State Department said the following:

"As we have made consistently clear, we are prepared to recognize Israeli actions to extend (its) sovereignty and the application of (its) law to areas of the West Bank that the vision foresees as being part of the State of Israel (sic)," adding:

This action will be "in the context of the Government of Israel agreeing to negotiate with the Palestinians along the lines set forth in…Trump's (so-called) vision (sic)."

He one-sidedly favors Israel at the expense of Palestinian rights and the rule of law, disdaining both.

On the same day in cahoots with the Trump regime, Netanyahu expressed confidence of US support to proceed with annexation in the weeks ahead.

On Sunday, he said "(a) couple of months from now, I am confident that that (the Trump regime's) pledge (of support for annexation) will be honored — no matter how in breach of international law.

Any nations recognizing Israeli annexation of settlements and Jordan Valley et al will violate the law the same way.

Israel already controls territory it plans to annex. It controls the entire West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza, Palestinians treated like enslaved subjects — the way it's been since Israel's 1967 war of aggression against neighboring Arab states.

There's no ambiguity about the rule of law. It's unknown what will happen following Israeli grand theft annexation.

One thing is clear. Palestinians are on their own in pursuit of freedom from the scourge of illegal Israeli occupation.

The rule of law on their side isn't enough. Israel has military power and often displayed ruthlessness to use it no holds barred.
