Major Media Cheerlead Establishment Figure Biden

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Based on a near-half century of public trust betrayal time and again, Biden is the worst of all Dem standard bearer choices in the 2020 race for the White House.

Not according to establishment media, ignoring the measure of the man, cheerleading his pre-scripted March primary triumphs over Sanders who's fallen virtually out of contention since March 3.

In its latest edition, the pro-dirty business as usual NYT said "Biden t(ook) command of (the) race (by) winning four states (on Tuesday) including Michigan" — making him "likely (Dem) nominee."

Tuesday results gave him what appears to be "an insurmountable advantage" he'll likely add to from March 17 primaries in Florida, Illinois and Ohio where polls show him ahead.

Favoring Biden over anyone suggesting crumbs of positive change, the Times promoted him as a candidate offering "steady leadership" and a "safe option" — code language for dirty business as usual, serving privileged interests exclusively over equity and justice for all.

Separately, the Times said Biden transformed the Dem race this month into a "short, orderly primary" season, lurching too far ahead to be caught.

Will Sanders concede before month's end or in early April? He's virtually out of the race already — given the power of manipulated elections rigged against him, indicating no likely change in what's coming ahead.

According to the neocon/CIA house organ Washington Post, "Biden roll(ed) up victories as Sanders struggles for a foothold."

"Biden appears to be on an unstoppable march to the nomination" — failing to explain that it was likely pre-scripted before primary season began, the result never in doubt.

Despite going along to get along most often, a democratic socialist in name only, Sanders isn't considered safe enough, dooming his 2016 and 2020 campaigns to be Dem standard bearer.

He's part of the problem, not the solution, a longtime self-serving con man, betraying his supporters for decades.

After losing to Hillary in 2016 by electoral theft, he endorsed her run for the White House — falsely claiming the Dem platform was the most progressive in party history.

Since the neoliberal 90's under the Clinton co-presidency, Dem bosses supported and continue supporting elimination of New Deal, Fair Deal, Great Society programs.

It showed in a regressive, not progressive, 2016 party platform, something similar for certain coming with Biden as 2020 party standard bearer.

Will Sanders support him after conceding defeat, ignoring his record to be reviled? If past is prologue, it's virtually baked in the cake.

In 2016, Sanders turned truth on its head, saying:

"Hillary Clinton understands that we must fix an economy in America that is rigged and that sends almost all new wealth and income to the top one percent."

Hillary was and remains a Wall Street/war-profiteer's tool – exclusively supporting monied interests at the expense of popular ones.

Endorsing her showed where Sanders stood on the issues.

Biden's agenda is no different. Yet a Sanders endorsement is highly likely, a dismal repeat of 2016, more proof that his rhetoric and agenda are world's apart.

Wall Street Journal editors hailed what they called the "twilight of the Sanders revolution (sic)" — in rhetoric only they failed to explain.

Some other post-mini-Super Tuesday headlines were as follows:

Reuters: "Voters in Tuesday's (Dem) primaries trust Biden (sic)"

AP News: "Joe Biden has another big primary night, wins 4 more states. Disappointing results leave Sanders campaign at crossroads."

ABC News: "Biden sweeps battlegrounds as (Dems) glimpse end of primary race"

CBS News: "Biden wins in Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi and Missouri"

NBC News: "Biden wins in (4) states, extends delegate lead over Sanders"

Los Angeles Times: "Biden wins Michigan, Idaho, Mississippi and Missouri. Calls arise for Sanders to quit"

Chicago Tribune: "Joe Biden's win in Michigan — as well as Missouri, Mississippi and Idaho — deals a serious blow to Bernie Sanders"

Fox News: "Biden builds on momentum with Michigan and Missouri wins, in blow to Sanders"

CNN: "Joe Biden is marching to the Democratic presidential nomination"

With Dem party bosses and go-along establishment media backing him, the race to be Dem standard bearer in November appears over — the power of big money carrying the day.
