Jeffrey Epstein's Death: Dubious Suicide Claim

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Mystery surrounds his death. Why would a wealthy influential figure, able to afford a highly skilled legal team, experienced in cutting deals favorable to clients, take his own life?

Figures like Epstein are rarely held accountable like ordinary people are treated.

In 2008, he pleaded guilty in Florida to "soliciting and procuring" an underage girl for "prostitution." Slap-on-the-wrist punishment followed.

True enough, he reportedly had lots of information about notable figures he arranged sex for with underage girls, leaving them vulnerable to potential statutory rape, prostitution, and sex trafficking charges, at minimum having their reputations greatly damaged.

On July 6, Epstein was arrested on federal "charges of sex trafficking of minors and conspiring to commit sex trafficking of minors."

"EPSTEIN is accused of committing these crimes in locations including, but not limited to, New York, New York, and Palm Beach, Florida," adding:

"(I)n order to maintain and increase his supply of victims, EPSTEIN also paid certain of his victims to recruit additional girls to be similarly abused by" him.

He "created a vast network of underage victims for him to sexually exploit in locations including New York and Palm Beach."

The Justice Department requested victims of his sexual abuse to come forward. Many rape victims are reluctant to talk about these disturbing episodes publicly.

Reportedly, dozens or women said Epstein sexually abused them when under the age of consent (usually 18), and got them to recruit other young girls for similar abuse.

Notably figures he procured sex for with minors clearly wanted nothing about it revealed at trial or otherwise.

His death means no trial of the century and likely no more public revelations than already touching notable figures — business, political, and other associates of Epstein exhaling because dead men tell no tales.

"(A)fter careful review of all investigative information, including complete autopsy findings," the office of New York City's chief medical examiner (Barbara Sampson) called Epstein's death suicide by hanging.

A statement by attorneys Martin G. Weinberg, Reid Weingarten and Michael Miller representing him said: "We are not satisfied with the conclusions."

They intend to conduct their own investigation of his death — most likely murder to silence him, not suicide.

Epstein was involved with his legal team in preparing his defense. He showed no suicidal tendencies, his lawyers explained.

Autopsy photos showed marks on his neck looked like they were made from strangulation, not a rope he had no access to.

According to forensic pathologist Cyril Wecht, fracture of his hyoid bone "almost always (is) associated with strangulation," adding:

"(M)ultiple breaks and fractures (found in Epstein's neck) are rare to find in suicidal hangings."

Nothing in his cell enabled suicide, including paper-thin sheets unable to support his weight, no bars, nothing on a high ceiling to attach something to.

Yet after left unmonitored overnight for hours, he was found with a bedsheet (unable to support his weight) around his neck around 6:30 AM August 10.

What's known about his death suggests strangulation, not suicide by hanging as officially reported six days after his death,  raising suspicions about why the autopsy results were delayed.

Because he was found semi-conscious in his New York Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) cell last month, he was placed on suicide watch — meaning close scrutiny round-the-clock monitoring, including by video camera(s) and regular guard inspections.

In late July, he was taken off suicide watch, placed in a special housing unit with no cellmate and under-monitored, proper procedures not followed.

His death has coverup all over it, major media likely involved, including the NYT, its latest edition headlining:

"Jeffrey Epstein Autopsy Results Show He Hanged Himself in Suicide," adding:

"The New York City chief medical examiner's determination refutes conspiracy theories that he may have been murdered."

The neocon/CIA house organ Washington Post headlined "Jeffrey Epstein's autopsy concludes his death was a suicide by hanging."

The Wall Street Journal headlined: "Jeffrey Epstein Died by Suicide, Medical Examiner Finds," adding:

"Jeffrey Epstein died by hanging himself, according to an autopsy released Friday, capping days of speculation about how the disgraced financier died in his jail cell."

Other establishment media reports were similar. Influential figures connected to Epstein want their relationships kept out of the public record, including flights on his "Lolita Express" Boeing 727 for likely sexual escapades suppressed.

Major media reports aim to prevent the scandal from exposing more than already revealed by naming names and sexual abuses committed.

High-profile figures are rarely ever held accountable for wrongdoing. Rare exceptions prove the rule.
