China Rejects US Sanctions on Iran and Venezuela

Unilaterally imposed sanctions by one nation on others flagrantly violate the UN Charter and other international law — the US a serial offender.

China, Russia and other nations maintain normal relations with Iran and Venezuela, how all sovereign states should operate.

Going along with what's flagrantly illegal is complicity with criminality. A previous article discussed a new Sino/Venezuelan oil venture.

It will blend Venezuelan extra-heavy crude with lighter oil to produce what's called medium-grade Merey, increasing the country's refined oil production from 125,500 to 220,000 thousand barrels a day. 

This article deals with China's involvement in three Iranian energy projects. Oil Price.com explained what was agreed on.

China continues importing large amounts of highly valued Iranian oil, along with increasing its investment in three key Iranian oil projects.

One is the huge South Pars gas field to advance the project and increase its output. France's Total was earlier involved before pulling out, bending to the Trump regime's will.

Its loss is Beijing's gain. The China National Petroleum Corporation (CHPC) is involved with Iran's Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC).

According to Oil Price.com, CNPC took over Total's "50.1 percent stake in the field when the French firm withdrew, giving it a total of 80.1 percent in the site, with Iran's own Petropars Company holding the remainder."

Iran also aims to increase development of "oil-rich West Karoun area, including North Azadegan, South Azadegan, North Yaran, South Yaran, and Yadavaran…"

The third project involves construction of Iran's Jask oil export terminal, including a 1,000 km pipeline, connecting Guriyeh in the Shoaybiyeh-ye Gharbi Rural District in southwest Iran to southern Iran's Jask County in Hormozgan province — the cost jointly financed by both countries.

Tanks able to store 500,000 barrels of oil will also be built. When completed, the Jask project will "have the capacity to store up to 30 million barrels and export one million barrels per day of crude oil," said Oil Price.com.

Further plans call for constructing petrochemical and refining operations in Jask, including "gasoline, gas oil, jet fuel, sulphur, butadiene, ethylene and propylene, and mono-ethylene glycol."

China has lots of ways to challenge unacceptable Trump regime actions, including its trade war, what has the earmarks of a color revolution attempt to destabilize the country by orchestrated Hong Kong protests,  and Pentagon deployment of ground-based, nuclear capable intermediate-range missiles in the Indo/Pacific region near China.

The US uses brute force and other hostile actions to try achieving its imperial aims, making more enemies than allies in the process.

Beijing is furious about weeks of violent protests in Hong Kong. On Wednesday, its official People's Daily broadsheet minced no words saying:

"There is no question that the United States has its hand in what is going on in Hong Kong" — meeting with some of its  disruptive elements at the US consulate in the city.

Trump expressed support for what's going on. American flags are prominently displayed by pro-Western protesters.

"(N)ot a single US politician has condemned the violence in Hong Kong. Rather, they have fanned the flames by sticking their noses into Hong Kong affairs," said the broadsheet.

China's Global Times (GT) accused the Trump regime of a color revolution attempt in Hong Kong "to ruin (the city's) future."

GT denounced "black-clad protesters" involved in storming the Hong Kong's international airport, shutting it down, adding:

"Radical protesters want to paralyze the city, undermine the authority of the government and police, demonstrations are no longer a complementary way of expressing demands under the legal framework, but an attempt to overthrow the rule of law and reshape the city's power structure. This is a typical color revolution."

If what's been going on in Hong Kong happened in one or more US cities, there'd be blood in the streets, replicating Israeli viciousness against Palestinians — lethally shooting them in cold blood while the world community yawns and does nothing to hold its ruling authorities accountable.

China has largely shown restraint though perhaps not much longer. No authorities anywhere can let foreign-manipulated thugs take over a city and shut it down.

The US considers China and other sovereign states it doesn't control adversaries, using hostile tactics to bludgeon them into submission.

Resistance is the only option. Anything less won't work and shows weakness.
