The Full of Lies White House
by Stephen Lendman
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was right saying "(t)he White House is full of lies."
Trump is so addicted to lying he likely can't distinguish between facts and fiction.
An earlier article discussed a sampling of his lies published by PolitiFact. Its scorecard on 656 Trump remarks said the following:
True – 4%
Mostly True – 11%
Half True – 14%
Mostly False – 21%
False – 34%
Pants on Fire – 14%
In other words, 96% of Trump's remarks fail to be entirely truthful – 75% of them mostly or totally false.
Bottom line: The vast majority of Trump's public remarks fail to pass the truth-telling smell test. Believe nothing he says, notably on vital issues — based on a sample of his remarks.
The same article mentioned a WaPo claim that it counted 492 false or misleading statements by Trump in his first 100 days in office — prelude for a tsunami to come.
In late April, WaPo claimed it tallied a whopping 10,111 Trump lies, falsehoods, or misstatements in his 828 days in office to that time, over a dozen lies daily.
If Guinness World Records has a dissembling category, Trump likely likely tops it, at least for politicians, a notoriously dishonest, duplicitous crowd, never to be trusted, rare exceptions proving the rule.
According to WaPo, the pace of Trump's Big Lies and misstatements accelerated this year. During the April 25 - 27 period alone, he made a whopping 171 false or misleading statements by its count.
Deception marks most all his remarks, why no one should believe anything he says — once a serial liar, always one.
A Friday White House statement attributed to Trump claims it has "solid evidence" that the USS Boxer downed an Iranian drone over the Hormuz Strait.
On Thursday, Trump said there was "an incident in the Strait of Hormuz today involving (the) USS Boxer Navy amphibious assault ship."
"The Boxer took defensive action against an Iranian drone which had closed into a very near distance, approximately 1,000 yards, ignoring multiple calls to stand down and was threatening the safety of the ship and the ship's crew. The drone was immediately destroyed," adding:
The incident is "the latest of many provocative and hostile actions by Iran against vessels operating in international waters."
The latter statement is clearly a bald-faced Big Lie, provocations a US/NATO/Israeli speciality, not how the Islamic Republic operates.
Iran denied the downing of one of its drones, Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said "(w)e have not lost any drone in the Strait of Hormuz nor anywhere else," adding:
The "USS Boxer (may have) shot down (a Pentagon) UAS (Unmanned Aerial System) by mistake!"
On Friday, Iran's IRGC said it'll release footage of the USS Boxer taken by the drone Trump said was downed, calling his claim "ridiculous…(a) groundless and a sheer lie," adding:
"The footage will show the IRGC Aerospace's drone was carrying out its ongoing mission in the region before the entry of the US warship into the Strait of Hormuz."
Press TV reported that "the drone successfully transmitted pictures of the US warship before and even after the time when the Americans claim they shot down the UAS," adding:
"The IRGC Navy and Aerospace forces are 'smartly, constantly, and precisely' monitoring and controlling the activities of aliens, 'particularly the terrorist forces of the US and Britons."
Iranian General Abolfazl Shekarchi said: "Unlike Trump's delusional and groundless claim, all drones belonging to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, including the one mentioned by the US president, have returned to their bases safe and sound after carrying out their scheduled surveillance and control operations," adding:
"The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran always feel duty-bound to protect, control, and safeguard the security of the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz with full vigilance while observing international regulations."
Trump's claim about downing an Iranian drone appears to be one of his countless Big Lies.
He may actually believe the rubbish he rants, a sign of his psychopathological/delusional serial lying.
The same goes for his extremist geopolitical team, notably Pompeo, Bolton and Abrams.
