US War of Words With China

Pressuring, bullying, threatening, and intimidating China to bend to Washington's will is a strategy doomed to fail.

Pursuing it is harebrained, especially Trump's tariffs war, weakening the US and global economy the longer it continues, especially if intensified. 

Yet he and hardliners infesting his regime are pursuing what's counterproductive anyway. It hasn't worked so far and surely won't ahead. 

China can respond with as much toughness as the Trump regime dishes out, taking a longterm approach, committed to developing the country politically, economically, financially, industrially, technologically, and militarily because of the imperial threat the US poses.

Beijing reacted sharply to false Trump regime accusations about its government. On Monday, Pompeo slammed it saying the US "hoped that China's integration into the international system would lead to a more open, tolerant society," adding: 

"Those hopes have been dashed. China's one-party state tolerates no dissent and abuses human rights whenever it serves its interests…(Critics) are punished, jailed, and even tortured."

Fact: China seeks cooperative relations with other countries, waging war on none, its policies making allies worldwide, threatening the US aim to rule the world unchallenged.

Fact: Republicans and undemocratic Dems target all sovereign independent governments for regime change — operating extrajudicially. 

Fact: The US is waging preemptive wars of aggression in multiple theaters, along with wars by other means on Iran, Venezuela, Cuba, and Nicaragua to crush their economies, immiserate their people, and topple their governments.

Fact: It's waging tariffs war on China, Mexico, South Korea and EU countries, earlier on Canada, threatened on India and Japan, to force its will on them — counterproductive bullying tactics.

Fact: In relations with other nations, China respects the rule of law and their sovereign rights — polar opposite how the US operates, an out-of-control hegemon.

It's headed by a bombastic geopolitical know-nothing, reality TV president, preeminent deal maker in his own mind, alienating other governments, along with driving the US and global economy south by his blunt instrument approach to international relations with China and other sovereign independent nations.

Spokesman for China's embassy in Washington responded to Pompeo's unacceptable remarks, accusing him of "grossly interven(ing) in China's internal affairs, attacking its system, and smearing its domestic and foreign policies," adding:

"This is an affront to the Chinese people and a serious violation of international law and basic norms governing international relations. The Chinese side expresses its strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to it."

"China is firmly committed to the path of peaceful development and to the development of human rights in China and the whole world, and has made significant contribution to the international human rights governance. This is a fact that is recognized by all unbiased people."

Separately, the People's Daily, Beijing's official broadsheet, slammed false Trump regime accusations about China "backtracking on commitments during bilateral economic and trade consultations," adding:

The US sides bears responsibility for "breach(ing) consensus and commitments," not the other way around, making unacceptable demands Beijing rejects.

A white paper issued Sunday by its State Council Information Office said the Trump regime "bears the sole and entire responsibility" for the current impasse, adding:

"The more the US government is offered, the more it wants" at the expense of sovereign Chinese rights. After agreement was reached on not raising tariffs, the Trump regime breached it, threatening duties on all Chinese imports up to 25%, maybe higher.

Blacklisting Huawei and its affiliates from the US market and tech supply chain on the phony pretext of national security concerns was and remains an unacceptable hostile act.

Unfair actions against Chinese enterprises, tariffs war plus issues over Taiwan and Beijing's legitimate South China Sea development risk rupturing bilateral relations. 

"History has proved that any attempt to force a deal through tactics such as smears, undermining, and extreme pressure will only spoil cooperative relationships, leading to miss of historic opportunities," the People's Daily said.

China rejects Trump's protectionist MAGA agenda, fueling resentment by all nations it harms.
