US Supported Terrorists Planning CW False Flag in Idlib, Syria

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Time and again throughout years of US aggression in Syria, its ISIS, al-Nusra, and other jihadist foot soldiers staged CW attacks, falsely blamed on Damascus.

According to Russia's reconciliation center, they're at it again, planning a CW attack in Idlib province, saying the following:

"Early on May 17, the Russian Center for reconciliation of the conflicting sides in Syria received information that terrorists from Jebhat al-Nusra are preparing a provocation in the Idlib province," adding:

"According to residents of the Seraqab settlement, al-Nusra militants are preparing a provocation with the use of toxic chemicals and debris of Russian aviation's ordnance delivered from other Syrian regions."

"The aim of the provocation is to accuse Russian forces of using chemical weapons against civilians in Idlib (by using obtained) parts of Russian air munitions delivered from other parts of Syria."

"(I)nformation received by the Russian reconciliation center from residents of Serqab was also confirmed by another independent source."

"The provocation is aimed at indicting Russian Aerospace Forces for using chemical weapons against the civilians in the Idlib governorate."

US supported terrorists plan to film the false flag for distribution on social and Western media — to wrongfully blame Russia for the provocation.

"The Russian Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Parties in Syria continues to monitor the situation in the Idlib de-escalation zone and bordering areas," it explained.

According to opposition figure Khalid al-Mahamid, al-Nusra jihadists "possess advanced weapons…maybe chemical weapons…maybe long-range rockets."

The CW attack if staged may be used as a pretext for Pentagon-led terror-bombing of Syrian sites, perhaps targeting its military, escalating conflict instead of stepping back from the brink.

Al-Nusra terrorists in Idlib province hold Syrian residents hostage as human shields, using areas they control as platforms for attacks on government forces and Russia's Khmeymim air base.

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, "terrorists operating (in Idlib) from the Nusra alliance are not stopping their provocative false flag attacks against government forces."

"Since the beginning of the year, over 460 such incidents have been recorded. Over 30 people have been killed, and 100 injured."

On Thursday, US deputy State Department spokesman Robert Palladino said the Trump regime "intends to provide $5 million" to the al-Qaeda-linked White Helmets in Syria, masquerading as civil defense workers.

In a report to the UN, Foundation for the Study of Democracy director Maxim Grigoriev presented evidence of White Helmets' involvement in human organ trafficking, as well as other unlawful activities — through their collaboration with US supported terrorists.

"People evacuated by the White Helmets often did not come back alive," Grigoriev explained, citing eyewitnesses to their lawless actions, adding:

"For example, a person receives a minor injury, is rescued, evacuated, and then brought back with their stomach cut open and with their internal organs missing."

White Helmets are also involved in looting stores and buildings, as well as stealing from civilians. Grigoriev quoted a member of the group, saying "(s)ometimes we came to help, entered a flat, and, if we found gold or jewelry, seized it."

"In one flat, there was a woman who felt ill. We came to help her, found some gold and stole it." Leaders of the group are involved for personal gain, Grigoriev stressed, unrelated to helping anyone but themselves, adding:

"There is overwhelming evidence which proves that the White Helmets centers were permanently engaged in building fortifications for battle positions for terrorist and illegal armed groups who had been supplying them with water and food and evacuating wounded terrorists from the front line."

According to Russia's UN envoy Vassily Nebenzia, "the White Helmets deserve to be on the United Nations' designated terrorist list."

A Russian Foreign Ministry statement said "(i)t is no secret to anyone that this (group) has worked exclusively on territories  not controlled by the government and hasn't avoided contacts with terrorists and extremists."

"On top of that, there is a lot of evidence proving that The White Helmets is virtually a branch of the terrorist organization al-Nusra, included in the UNSC's sanctions list."

"We are sure that everyone will see, sooner or later, the White Helmets' genuine face. We are urging their western sponsors to realize things as they are and stop defending those who are in actual fact provocateurs and extremists."

"There is no need to outline all the 'services' carried out by this organization. Let alone set-up videos of staged chemical attacks in the Syrian city of Douma. In actual fact, all reports on chemical substances emerging or moving around Syria feature the mentioning of The White Helmets."

Separately on Thursday, Russia's UN envoy Nebenzia addressed a Security Council session on Syria. He slammed the US for continuing its lawless occupation of Syrian territory, for holding and mistreating many thousands of Syrian refugees in refugee camps it controls, for blocking humanitarian aid from reaching them, adding:

"We reject point blank any accusations of violating the international humanitarian law. Neither the Syrian army, nor the Russian Air-Space Forces carry out military action against civil population and infrastructure" — what the US and its imperial partners do repeatedly in all their war theaters.

Russia targets US supported terrorists, facts Western regimes and their supportive media suppress, along with concealing Pentagon-led crimes of war and against humanity — supporting the scourge of ISIS and other jihadists while pretending to combat them.

Nebenzia: "The Syrian government as well as the Russian representatives always try to prevent violence and settle situation peacefully whenever possible, even if it is about illegal armed formations. Reconciliation at the major part of the Syrian territory was achieved through negotiations."

"In Idlib there is one impediment – unstopping aggression (by US supported al-Nusra) terrorists that have provoked serious escalation of tension in the governorate. The militants continuously carry out attacks on the positions of governmental forces and shell at adjacent settlements. It is peaceful population and Syrian military that are victims of those attacks."

"We refuse to take terrorists for 'untouchables,' and we will continue our fight against them despite laments coming from some of our partners (sic)."

US aggression in Syria continues endlessly because its ruling authorities and Congress reject resolution.
