Militant Trump Regime Hostility Toward Cuba

The US and Cuba are world's apart in how they treat their people.

During a visit to the island state in 2007, the late Gore Vidal said the Cuban system is "successful for the people who live in it" - marveling at being able to breathe free for the first time, he explained.

He called it "rare to see a contented people. Everything they're doing (is) very good. There is no sullenness among the people which you get with great masses that don't quite know what their government is."

Cuba considers people its greatest resource. What a "brilliant notion," said Vidal. "All we've got is people, so we'll train them" to become doctors, teachers, and skilled in other areas to help Cuban society.

The US is a fascist police state, a fantasy democracy waging war on humanity at home and abroad. Cuba is open, free and fair. Its people have benefits most Americans can't imagine.

They include constitutionally mandated, government subsidized, education to the highest levels and world-class healthcare, free to all Cubans - Latin America's best for these social programs.

Under Fidel, illiteracy was virtually eliminated. So were diseases plaguing the country in pre-Castro days. Cuba has the region's lowest infant mortality rate and highest life expectancy.

Virtually everyone has access to safe drinking water and public sanitation. The island state has 47 universities, hundreds of thousands of students enrolled.

Under punishing, illegal US embargo and sanctions for nearly 60 years, Cuba overcame hostile US actions to topple its government. 

The US 1992 Cuban Democracy Act illegally encourages anti-government groups against a sovereign state threatening no one. 

The US 1996 Cuban Liberty and Democratic Solidarity (Helms-Burton) Act (sic) says "the President (of the United States) is authorized to furnish assistance and provide other support for individuals and independent nongovernmental organizations to support democracy-building efforts for Cuba (sic)." 

Its aim is fostering subversion to replace its legitimate government with US-controlled puppet rule.

Trump regime hardliners imposed new sanctions on Cuba, announced by John Bolton on Wednesday.

In 1996, the Vienna-based International Progress Organization called sanctions as "an illegitimate form of collective punishment of the weakest and poorest members of society, the infants, the children, the chronically ill, and the elderly."

New ones include travel restrictions and limiting remittances from US citizens to Cubans, targeting the country's access to hard currency.

Cuban entities were added to the US blacklist. Unlimited lawsuits by Cuban ex-pats against the state will be permitted for property nationalized after the 1959 revolution.

Last month in response to the State Department's announced policy of permitting limited lawsuits, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez "strong(ly) reject(ed)" the US action, calling it an "unacceptable threat against the world."

Straightaway in office, Trump said  he'd "terminate" Obama's approach unless Havana makes significant concessions to Washington.

In June 2017, DLT rolled back what he called Obama's "terrible and misguided" policies on Cuba (sic), adding: "Effective immediately, I am canceling (his) completely one-sided deal with Cuba (sic)."

On Wednesday, Mike Pompeo announced the Trump regime's plan to permit unlimited lawsuits by Cuban ex-pats against the island state for nationalized property.

He lied claiming its government "deprives its own people of the fundamental freedoms of speech, press, assembly, and association (sic)."

He lied accusing its authorities of "ma(king) more than 2,800 arbitrary arrests in 2018 alone (sic)."

He lied saying Cuban authorities "harassed, beat, and detained leaders and – opposition leaders and activists (sic).

He lied claiming "Cuba's behavior in the Western Hemisphere undermines the security and stability of countries throughout the region, which directly threatens United States national security interests (sic)."

He lied saying Cuba "has for years exported its tactics of intimidation, repression, and violence (sic)," adding: "They've exported this to Venezuela in direct support of" Nicolas Maduro (sic).

US geopolitical and domestic agendas are built on a foundation of misinformation, disinformation, Big Lies, and rage for unchallenged global dominance.

Propaganda works. Drowning out hard truths gets most people to believe what demands denunciation and rejection.

An April YouGov poll shockingly found that most Americans want Julian Assange prosecuted - by a margin of 53% for, 17% against, others with no opinion either way.

The result showed profound public ignorance about what's going on, their minds manipulated by the power of repetitious propaganda.

Other polls showed most people are willing to sacrifice fundamental freedoms for greater security, unaware it assures losing both - what tyranny in all about.

Pompeo: "Effective May 2nd," Helms-Burton Act "Title III…will be implemented in full," permitting unlimited lawsuits by Cuban ex-pats against the island state for nationalized property - a hostile action able to accomplish nothing, the Miguel Diaz-Canel government to ignore them.

More serious are Trump regime aims to transform Cuba into a US vassal state, along with Nicaragua, Venezuela, Iran, and all other independent nations. 

Their sovereign rights are too precious to lose, their governments and people wanting them preserved and protected from US predatory control.
