Netanyahu Addresses AIPAC: Hopefully for the Last Time as PM

A post-April 9 election indictment awaits him for fraud, bribery and breach of trust, his highest of high crimes ignored.

After returning home on Monday from a photo-op meeting with Trump, the US president signing a proclamation, illegally recognizing Syria's Golan as Israeli territory, Netanyahu addressed AIPAC attendees via satellite.

More pressing is possible war on Gaza after IDF weekend and further attacks on the Strip through pre-dawn Wednesday so far, perhaps more to come. 

If reached, ceasefire will be uneasy until the next preemptive Israeli attack on the Strip, what happened countless times before. 

Like virtually always earlier, Israel initiated the latest violence, Gazans wrongfully blamed for responding in self-defense. 

Things are compounded by suffocating blockade without end, uncontested by the world community, an act of war, Gazans suffering under intolerable conditions, world leaders letting Israel get away with mass murder and much more.

In his AIPAC address, Netanyahu took a victory lap for terror-bombing Gaza, attendees loving it, contemptuous of Palestinian rights, supporting Israeli high crimes of war and against humanity.

"In the last 24 hours, the IDF destroyed major Hamas terrorist installations (sic) on a scale not seen since the end of the military operation in Gaza four years ago," Netanyahu roared.

Hamas is Palestine's legitimate government. It's not a terrorist organization as falsely designated by the State Department at Israel's behest.

Attacking the Strip was naked aggression like many times before, including three full-scale wars since December 2008, Netanyahu expressing pride in mass slaughter and destruction.

"…I'm not able to be with you in person because I returned to deal with the security situation in Israel after that criminal rocket attack (sic) from Gaza on our territory," he bellowed - ignoring IDF attacks on the Strip last weekend, prompting a rocket response.

One alone caused injuries and damage, most others landing harmlessly, some intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome. The world community turns a blind eye to Israeli naked aggression time and again - against defenseless Palestinians and neighboring countries.

Netanyahu: "…I'm just coming from a meeting with our chief of staff and our senior command. And I can tell you, we are prepared to do a lot more. We will do what is necessary to defend our people and to defend."

Fact: Israel's only threats are invented ones. No real ones exist - not from Gazans, other Palestinians, Syria, or anyone else.

Fact: Israel is the region's major threat, along with the US presence in a part of the world where it doesn't belong, where it operates illegally, terrorizing one nation after another, partnering in Israeli wars of aggression.

Netanyahu: Monday "at the White House, President Trump again made history. He formally recognized Israel's sovereignty over the Golan Heights. (It's) indispensable for our defense. It's part of our history."

Fact: Golan is illegally occupied Syrian territory. Trump's proclamation flagrantly violated unanimously adopted Security Council Resolution 497, affirming Golan as sovereign Syrian territory.

Netanyahu was wrong saying Israel will "never give it up." An eventual day of reckoning awaits the Jewish state, illegally occupied territories returned to their rightful sovereign owners.

Netanyahu never misses an opportunity to miss an opportunity to set the record straight on Iran. He boasted about Trump's illegal pullout from the JCPOA nuclear deal - the landmark agreement supported from virtually the entire world community other than the US and Israel.

He bragged about multiple rounds of illegal US sanctions on Iran. He lied claiming the Islamic Republic "vows to destroy" Israel.

He boasted about Trump's illegal recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital, unlawfully moving the US embassy there as well, ignoring the international status of the city.

He lied calling legitimate criticism of the scourge of Zionism and Israel anti-Semitic.

He lied calling Ziofascist apartheid Israel a "vibrant democracy" - for its privileged Jews alone, no one else, Arab citizens denied their fundamental rights, ordinary Jews exploited by neoliberal harshness.

As in the US and other Western countries, Israeli elections when held are farcical, dirty business as usual winning every time.

Judgment awaits Netanyahu on multiple criminal counts - civil ones, his high crimes of war, against humanity, and slow-motion genocide against Palestinians ignored.

Holding him accountable for anything and sentencing him to prison time will be a small triumph of good over pure evil he represents.
