Falsely Blaming Hamas for Israeli High Crimes

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

Blaming victims is longstanding US, Israel, and scoundrel media policy.

The NYT is notoriously dismissive of Palestinian rights, one-sidedly supporting Israel no matter how egregious its high crimes.

"Israel and Hamas have fought three wars in the last decade," it misreported.

Israel waged three preemptive wars of aggression on Gaza, ruthlessly massacring thousands of defenseless civilians, injuring countless thousands more, causing vast destruction, much of the Strip still in ruins.

The Netanyahu regime continues holding two million Palestinians hostage under brutalizing illegal blockade, a war crime the Times failed to explain.

Complicit with Israel, the Times falsely blamed Hamas for flaming kites launched cross-border, a tactic used by long-suffering Gazans, along with weekly Great March of Return protests, to draw attention to untenable Strip conditions.

Two million Palestinians are held hostage by a ruthless occupier, solely for political reasons.

According to the right-wing International Crisis Group's Israeli-Palestinian project director Nathan Thrall, quoted by the Times, "if Hamas stops the kites, the situation can go back to what it was half a year ago," a dismal prospect.

Thrall turned truth on its head, adding "(t)he problem is that Hamas doesn't want to go back to where it was half a year ago, or a year ago or two years ago" - falsely blaming the political group for Israeli high crimes, failing to explain Israeli-caused crisis conditions gravely harming Gazans.

The Times: "Another crucial element in the Gaza morass is the recurring failure of reconciliation efforts between Hamas, which has controlled Gaza for 11 years, and the Western-backed Palestinian Authority, a more moderate body that exercises limited authority over parts of the West Bank."

Fact: Calling humanitarian crisis conditions in Gaza a "morass" disgracefully distorts reality - Israel's unlawful blockade, an act of war, suffocating two million Palestinians, attacking them repeatedly without just cause.

Fact: The PA is an Israeli created subservient tool, serving its interests, betraying its own people.

Fact: Israeli pressure and threats prevented PA reconciliation with Hamas, pitting Palestinians against each other, a divide and control strategy.

Fact: The PA exerts no authority over any portion of the West Bank, entirely controlled by Israel, the PA nominally in control of an increasingly shrinking portion of the territory and Palestinians in it, serving its Israeli master, not its own people.

Fact: Calling the PA "moderate" turns truth on its head. Any political body harming its own people in deference to an illegal occupier is hard-right extremist.

The Times disgracefully accused Hamas of "orchestrating mass, often-violent protests" along the illegal imprisoning border fence.

It cited the IDF Big Lie about acting to prevent border breaches, as well as attacks by Hamas and other Gazans. They almost never occur except in response to Israeli terror-bombing or cross-border shelling.

Citing 140 Gazans killed by Israeli snipers, the Times falsely said they were "mostly unarmed." Human rights field workers in the Strip during demonstrations called them peaceful, no Palestinians armed with weapons.

Israel is responsible for illegal blockade, naked aggression at its discretion, and humanitarian crisis conditions worsening from its harshness with no letup.

The Times ignored all of the above!

A Final Comment

In an op-ed, an infamous Ziofascist quartet comprised of Nikki Haley, Jared Kushner, Jason Greenblatt, and Trump's envoy to Israel David Friedman recited a litany of Big Lies - claiming they support peace in Gaza they abhor everywhere and intend "tell(ing) the truth about Hamas" they lie about repeatedly.

According to the infamous four, the UN is "relentlessly and blindly anti-Israel," a rare exception happening on June 13.

They and likeminded Ziofascists consider honest criticism of the Jewish state "blindly anti-Israel."

Last month, the Trump regime pressured, bribed and threatened enough General Assembly member states to support a US proposed amendment, blaming Hamas for Israeli high crimes during weekly Gazan Great March of Return demonstrations.

The infamous foursome praised a moment of General Assembly shame - a majority supporting wrong over right.
