Will US Dark Forces Sabotage Improving Relations with North Korea?

Longtime enemies Washington and North Korea becoming allies flies in the face of US imperial aims to eliminate or co-opt all sovereign independent governments, making them subservient to its interests - the DPRK no exception.

The CIA may play a lead role in undermining improved bilateral relations. Its house organ Washington Post is militantly hostile to Pyongyang. 

"No more concessions," its neocon editors roared. None exist except hollow US promises, surely fading ahead in the mist of day like countless times before.

WaPo editors blasted Kim Jong-un, calling him a "dictator," saying he "ordered the murder of his own family members" despite no evidence suggesting it.

They compared his prisons to "those of Hitler and Stalin." True enough punishing DPRK prison camps exist. South Korea's prison system under earlier US-installed despots were similar, maybe no different now.

America's gulag prison system is the shame of the nation, the world's largest, one of the most brutal. The same goes for Israel. 

Palestinian equity and justice advocates risk longterm imprisonment under brutalizing conditions for wanting to live free from illegal occupation harshness. 

US regimes maintain a global network of torture prison black sites, run by the CIA, still operating under Trump, notably under torturer-in-chief Gina Haspel.

WaPo and other media scoundrels ignore US high crimes - blamed on its adversaries when committed against them, the way things work in the West, go-along media supporting what demands condemnation.

According to WaPo, Trump "placed a large bet on a cruel and unpredictable ruler whose motives and aims are far from clear - and who has shown no sign of altering North Korea's commitment to nuclear weapons or its deceptive negotiating tactics" - bald-faced lies, typical scoundrel media disinformation.

Kim, his father and grandfather sought normalized relations with Washington and the West, promises when made by US regimes breached, not the other way around.

If issues vital to North Korea are resolved by commitments guaranteed to stick, an implausible scenario, the DPRK would have no need for nuclear weapons or long-range ballistic missiles.

Kim and key North Korean officials want them only for self-defense. The country poses no threat to America, the South, Japan or any other nations. 

Falsely claiming otherwise has been a pretext for maintaining hostile relations throughout its history, DPRK sovereign independence the key reason for US-led hostility, along with Washington needing enemies to advance its imperial agenda.

Post-summit, WaPo unleashed a barrage of anti-North Korea reports.

Mocking Kim Jong-un, one headlined "Make North Korea great again," saying Kim "got a boost and President Trump got his photo op in Singapore."

Another headlined "Kim Jong Un pulls off a magic trick," claiming he got Trump to rebrand his country "as a modern condo-resort investment project (in return for) vague promises…"

There's nothing vague about what the DPRK will do in return for guaranteed security, a formal end to the 1950s war, lifting unacceptable sanctions, respecting the country's sovereignty, and ending its US-forced isolation.

Still another headlined "Trump and Kim meet, shake - and lie through their teeth," turning truth on its head saying Kim is "an untrustworthy, murdering, torturing, enslaving, nuclearized global menace who starves his people and regularly threatens the United States and its allies…"

"A summit without substance," headined one more," disgracefully saying: "(H)ype was the whole point." What followed was more worthless rubbish.

Cold hard reality follows summit talks. Kim and Trump meeting face-to-face with likely more rounds in Pyongyang and Washington temporarily steps back from the brink on the Korean peninsula.

Given Washington's long history of broken promises, Trump/Kim camaraderie may not be long-lasting.
