Four Palestinians Killed, Hundreds Injured on Friday

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org - Home - Stephen Lendman)

The death toll now stands at 12, well over 2,000 Palestinians injured, scores, maybe hundreds, arrested, brutalized during interrogations and detention.

Following Trump's Jerusalem declaration, Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and East Jerusalem have been protesting daily.

Israel attacks Palestinian protests violently whenever they occur, the hallmark of a Ziofascist police state, a democracy in name only like America and other Western nations - rogue warrior states, not peaceful equitable ones.

After Friday prayers, tens of  thousands of Palestinians protested across the Occupied Territories, met by brute force again, including worshipers after leaving the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

On Thursday night in Gaza City, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said "the uprising against Trump's decision caused cracks in the stance of the United States and isolated the administration."

"We are acting to cancel Trump's decision and we will bring him down once and for all. Trump's declaration is more dangerous than the Balfour Declaration."

Palestinians intend "mak(ing) every Friday a day of rage for Jerusalem and exacerbate the protest against Trump's decision."

Daily protests have been ongoing for eight days, showing no signs of ebbing, likely to continue for some time.

Trump's declaration endorsed Israel's right to toughen occupation harshness, continue unrestrained settlement construction on stolen Palestinian land, dispossess them with impunity, violate their fundamental rights, and brutalize resisters.

Palestinian Grassroots Anti- Apartheid Wall Campaign coordinator Jamal Juma explained "Palestinians don't need a deal. They need justice, freedom and equality."

They've "been resisting for 100 years. (There's) no reason to think anything would force (them) to come to a deal during Trump's presidency" - getting nothing in return but continued betrayal, occupation and subjugation.

Ruthless Israeli apartheid no longer can be tolerated. Resistance for long denied justice is the only alternative.

On Friday, senior Hamas official Mahmoud Zahar said "(w)e will not make any compromise on our interests or our religion."

"Our main project is the liberation of all Palestine. Our battle will continue until the full liberation of Palestine. This is the promise of God."

Jerusalem remains the core Palestinian issue. Surrendering the city to Israel is unthinkable.
