Russia to Ban Washington's Orwellian National Democratic Institute

NDI is one of four National Endowment for Democracy (NED) affiliated groups, State Department funded - nothing democratic about the lot of them, undermining it wherever it exists, serving US imperial interests, targeting sovereign rights in countries like Russia.

In mid-2015, Moscow enacted the Law on Undesirable Organizations, targeting foreign groups posing a "threat to the constitutional order and defense capability or the security of the Russian state" - subversive groups no governments should tolerate.

Last July, Russian Deputy Chief Prosecutor Vladimir Malinovsky "signed a decree recognizing the activities of the National Endowment for Democracy, a foreign non-commercial organization, as undesirable in the territory of Russia in compliance with a law on measures of impacting people linked to the violation of basic human rights and freedoms and the rights and freedoms of the citizens of Russia."

Russia's 2012 Foreign Agents Law requires NGOs engaged in political activities register as foreign agents or face stiff fines. They're prohibited from supporting political parties, free to engage in other activities.

CIA-connected NED is notorious for lawlessly meddling in the internal affairs of other countries, threatening their national security.

NDI operates the same way, together with NED, Freedom House and partnered groups involved in all US attempted new millennium color revolutions, efforts to oust independent governments, replace them with puppet regimes Washington controls.

Some succeeded in Serbia, Georgia, Ukraine twice and elsewhere. Others failed, notably in Iran.

A rogue's gallery of past or current high-level US officials are or were involved in NED activities and/or its affiliated groups.

Former Clinton secretary of state Madeleine Albright chairs NDI - ruled a threat to Russian security and constitutional order by its Prosecutor General's Office.

A proposal to blacklist the group was sent to Moscow's Justice Department. Banning it is virtually certain.

It's operated subversively in Russia for decades, including through NED and partner groups. Once ruled a threat to national security, its activities are prohibited, internally held assets  frozen and offices closed.

Violations subject guilty parties to heavy fines and/or imprisonment, especially for repeat offenses. Russia's upper house Federation Council plans to declare the following groups undesirable for "anti-Russian bias," threatening national security:

NED, George Soros' Open Society Institute (Soros Foundation), International Republican Institute (ISI), NDI, MacArthur Foundation, Freedom House; Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, Polish-based Education for Democracy Foundation, East European Democratic Center, Ukrainian World Congress, Ukrainian World Coordinating Council, and Crimean Field Mission on Human Rights. 

Protecting national security requires banning groups like NED, NDI and likeminded ones - involved in subversive activities aimed at undermining legitimate governments.
