More Proof of Turkish Support for ISIS

by Stephen Lendman

Volumes of indisputable documented evidence show Turkish support for ISIS - complicit with Washington, key NATO partners, Saudi Arabia and other regional rogue states. Earlier articles discussed it.

Turkish opposition broadsheet Cumhuriyet published phone transcripts of conversations between ISIS terrorists and regime officials, gotten from chief prosecutor office wiretaps last year, as part of investigation into missing Turkish citizens believed to have joined the group.

Earlier transcripts were published in December, new ones on Monday involving leading ISIS figure Mustafa Demir.

Evidence was presented in Ankara's 3rd High Criminal Court, showing "Demir received money…from smugglers at the border and cooperated with the officers as far as crossings are concerned," Cumhuriyet revealed.

The conversation in one transcript went as follows - Demir speaking with a Turkish military officer, asking:

"(W)here are you, big brother? At the place where I told you to be?

Yeah. We also saw you, your men…

Is it possible for you to arrange that I talk with the commander here, regarding the business here? What if we could establish a contact here as we helped you...

Okay…I'll pass this now. I have two military posts there. If the worst comes to the worst, I'll tell that to the commander of the station and have him take a look…"

In a separate conversation between Demir and another Turkish military official, he's asked to come to him immediately, the transcript saying:

"We have stuff. Come here from that side. The men are here."

Demir responds, saying "OK, big brother. (I'm) coming. Is it the place where I gave First Lt. Burak a car?"

Last November, Cumhuriyet editor-and-chief, Can Dunbar, and its Ankara bureau chief, Erdem Gul, were arrested for criticizing regime policy.

Anyone exposing its criminality risks arrest, prosecution, imprisonment or assassination. Both men were involved in publishing photographic evidence of Turkish intelligence operatives smuggling heavy weapons to ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria.

Treason and espionage charges followed, both men in prison under deplorable conditions awaiting trial.

Turkey is notorious for ruthless crackdowns on independent journalists exposing regime wrongdoing.

Prosecutors demand life in prison. Rubber-stamp kangaroo courts virtually always comply.

Western officials and media scoundrels ignore Turkish criminality - notably its support for ISIS and other terrorist groups in Syria, complicit with Washington, other rogue NATO states and regional partners.
