3. Organizations Team Up To Ensure Fair Ballot Measures

You want to DO something? Working from home, you can catch people committing fraud and help guarantee that the upcoming election is fair. Help eliminate all the fraud we KNOW is already taking place.

Verify the Vote, Arizona, and True the Vote, have teamed up to ensure that certain Arizona initiative measures will be legally placed on the ballot. These two non-partisan groups are using a high-tech method of checking every signature and petition circulator participating in getting the measure certified for the November ballot.

The “Open Elections/Open Government Act” initiative had petitions circulated by the “Open Government Committee.” This initiative was selected for scrutiny due to the public outcry from both partisan and non-partisan groups for the petitions to be thoroughly reviewed. The initiative is commonly referred to as the “Top Two Primary.”

Historic Effort for Fairness

“This is an historic effort now made possible by our dedicated network of volunteers and emerging technologies to ensure that what we get to vote on has been legally and fairly brought to the ballot,” True The Vote President Catherine Engelbrecht said. “True The Vote does not take any position on the ballot measure -- but wants voters to know that every effort is being made to ensure this initiative has been vetted by a group supporting fair practices by legitimate petition gatherers.”

Proven Technology

True the Vote used the same technology to audit petition signatures in the attempted recall of Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker. With the technology proven, the commitment has now been extended to help citizens in Arizona reviewing each and every signature submitted by the “Open Government Committee” to amend Arizona's Constitution.

With True the Vote's technology, citizen volunteers (that's YOU) across the entire country can help take on monumental task of verifying every petition signer and circulator. And it's easy. And you can do as little or as much as you want, in your spare time. Even while you watch TV.

High Rate of Invalid Signatures Already Found

Early results are showing a very high rate of invalid signatures. There are also indications that some of the petition circulators may have been unqualified to gather signatures by Arizona State Law. One of the gatherers of 52 petitions has been found to be a convicted felon.

When the verification is complete the groups plan to announce the results and turn them over to groups who have indicated they will pursue legal action if there is enough evidence of misconduct.
