Iowa Christian Alliance's, Ed Failor vs. Ron Paul (MP3 radio today)

Written by Subject: Eugenics
The Last hour (the last 3rd of the show) of the Jan Mickelson talk show with Ron Paul's campaign Chairman Kent Snyder and Ed Failor from the Iowa Christian Alliance (co-sponsor with Iowans for Tax Relief) that made it very clear that Ron Paul is not welcome at the Presidential Candidates Forum on Tax Relief being held in Iowa.

Ron Paul was the only Republican candidate for President that was not invited.... maybe the notes at the end of this post will help answer why...

"In the Words of Our Enemies"  Jed Babbin with some spirited conversation.  Russ Davis and Pete Houska are pork producers offering a $1000 reward for the slobs who dropped dead pigs into the Raccoon River.   Kevin Gutzman with "The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution".    A terrific guide to make you scam-proof by the political class.  Highest Recommendation!

Then Congressman Ron Paul  isn't welcome at the Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance  candidates forum.    Oversight?  Nope.  Kent Snyder from Ron Paul's campaign  and Ed Failor from ITR exchange words.  Lotsa them.

Dean Kleckner is listed at the very top of the list of Board of Directors and Staff as Honorary Chairman of the Iowans for Tax Relief. I caught up with Mr. Kleckner by phone at 12:45pm PST June 20th.

Dean Kleckner:
"I was Surprised that Ron Paul wasn't invited. Why he wasn't invited I don't know. I don't know if there was any other candidate not invited but I would have no objection to him being invited."

OK,... let's take a look at the other officers listed and see what pops up from Google...

Conservative spotlight: David M.Stanley

David M. Stanley - Chairman

The 70-year-old Stanley served in the Iowa state house from 1959 to 1965 and then in the state senate from 1965 to 1969, returning to the house for another term in 1973-'74. He was House Ways and Means Committee chairman and Senate majority leader, and unsuccessfully ran as the Republican nominee for the U.S. Senate in 1968 and 1974.

The Iowans for Tax Relief is affiliated with the Americans for Tax Reform. The ATR is a non-partisan coalition of taxpayers and taxpayer groups who oppose any and all federal and state tax increases. For more information, or to arrange an interview with Mr. Norquist please contact John Kartch at (202)785-0266 or by email at jkartch@atr.org.

At first glance you might think that they would be supportive of Ron Paul's participation.

In an Iowan's for Tax Relief June 8th release to promote the event there was no mention of Duncan Hunter. On June 16th Duncan Hunter was added. During this time frame Ron Paul was certainly rated higher that Duncan Hunter.

Just like Medical Doctor Ron Paul not being asked his opinion in the debates when healthcare issues are discussed, the establishment is very fearful of his participation in a competitive environment with other candidates on the issue of taxes.

Dear Fairtax, lighting expressions by shaw, Krishna Engineering consultants, Ed Failor, Steve Scheffler, Peter E. Voorhees, Tom Miller, Julie Reeves and David Stanley

I am Shocked regarding the article regarding PRESIDENTIAL candidate and 10 term Congressman Ron Paul not being invited to the Debate sponsored by the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance.  This was reported on the RonPaul2008.com, Freeliberal.com, freemarketnews.com and also Freedomsphoenix.com websites. There is also a petition online that now has over 3000 signatures on it requesting Ron Paul be invited to the debate.    I find this to be on of the most absurd stories I have ever heard!  Ron Paul is unanimously considered the Tax payers biggest Friend, and as Pro Life Republican he is a champion for the RIGHTS of the unborn.   Consistently:

  • He has never voted to raise taxes.
  • He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
  • He has never voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
  • He has never voted to raise congressional pay.
  • He has never taken a government-paid junket.
  • He has never voted to increase the power of the executive branch.
  • He voted against the Patriot Act.
  • He voted against regulating the Internet.
  • He voted against the Iraq war.
  • He does not participate in the lucrative congressional pension program.
  • He returns a portion of his annual congressional office budget to the U.S. treasury every year.
As a Christian Conservative Republican, I need to know what kind of insanely daft reasoning you are using to not allow Ron Paul in your Debate.  Further on Ron Paul's website it indicates that you were either RUDE or non responsive.  This is UNACCEPTABLE!!  Gentlemen, our country is at a crossroads, it is my firm belief that only a solid constitutional CHRISTIAN can lead this country out of the mess that it is in right now.  I implore you to reconsider your decision for the good of the country and the rights of the unborn.

Mark my words gentlemen...you have yet to experience the full force of the Ron Paul Revolution.  I suggesting very, very, very kindly that you would be well served to reverse your decision, APOLOGIZE to the distinguished congressman, IMMEDIATELY and allow Ron Paul to participate in your debate.

May Almighty GOD give you the strength to do the right thing!

Thomas Mario of the family Costanzo.

PS I understand that Mitt Romney is invited to the Debate yet he has a Pro choice position

Ron Paul Excluded in Iowa

Iowans for Tax Relief and Iowa Christian Alliance will host a presidential candidates forum on Saturday, June 30th in Des Moines.  Republican presidential candidates Mitt Romney, Sam Brownback, Jim Gilmore, Mike Huckabee, Tommy Thompson, and Tom Tancredo will participate.
Ron Paul, however, will not participate.  Why?  Because he wasn’t invited.
We heard about this forum from numerous supporters in Iowa who asked why Dr. Paul was not going to participate.  Those supporters assumed that Dr. Paul was invited.
The campaign office had not received an invitation so we called this morning; thinking we might have misplaced the invitation or simply overlooked it.  Lew Moore, our campaign manager, called Mr. Edward Failor, an officer of Iowans for Tax Relief, to ask about it.  To our shock, Mr. Failor told us Dr. Paul was not invited; he was not going to be invited; and he would not be allowed to participate.  And when asked why, Mr. Failor refused to explain.  The call ended.
Lew then called Mr. Steve Scheffler, president of the Iowa Christian Alliance, to talk with him.  Mr. Scheffler did not answer so Lew left a message.  He has yet to respond.
Why are the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluding the one Republican candidate who scored at the top of every online poll taken after the MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN debates?  Why are they denying Iowans the opportunity to hear from the Republican presidential candidate whose popularity is growing by the day?
We couldn’t get answers to these questions from Messrs. Failor and Scheffler.  Maybe you’ll have better luck.  Their contact information is below.
It's ironic that on the same day we learned the Iowans for Tax Relief and the Iowa Christian Alliance excluded Dr. Paul from their candidates forum, we received a call from ABC News confirming Dr. Paul’s participation in its nationally broadcast August 5th debate to be held in Des Moines.

Iowans for Tax Relief But Not Ron Paul

The Ron Paul campaign just sent out an e-mail saying that the Iowans for Tax Relief will not allow Dr. Paul to participate in a debate they are co-organizing with the Iowa Christian Alliance. This seems strange, given that Paul placed second in a straw poll conducted at the NTU conference this weekend. Anti-taxers are generally pro-Paul.
The NTU conference is co-organized with Iowans for Tax Relief. My guess is that someone in Iowa doesn't like Ron Paul. Who could it be and for what reason, one wonders. Dr. Paul's position on Iraq?
